I've grown to now not be so mad because of the loss. I had a sneaking suspicion we were gonna lose the first game. All the fatigue from a 7 game series plus the long delay due to the airport fuck ups in NO. Spurs really did shine in that first half but fizzled as the game went on which I think had alot to do with the fatigue.

Kobe is like Paul, he is gonna make his 25+ points no matter what so just got to find a way to contain the rest of the starters because the Lakers bench is horrible compared to the Spurs and with a great offense we can definitely take this series. Lakers still showed they had no answer to Duncan and if Parker penetrated more in the paint during the second half, that game would have been ours. Oh well...onward to game 2!

phuck spurs

Posted by Trancealot on May-22-2008 19:14:

as long as they are within 5-8 points by the mid 4th quarter then the lakers will most likely be on top at the very end.

My theory is kobe usually turns it on in the 4th so he knows he wants that lead or nail in the coffin and even if he is not so hot they got a decent lineup to clean up any messes that kobe can't cleanup. If the lead is more that 10+ then spurs def might take advantage by giving in duncan and waiting for the foul(s) = free throws for the game to finish

Posted by Trancealot on May-24-2008 04:04:

how do you feel?
I saw this article yestarday and now I know why people on their forum make fun of the writers

Did not watch the game but...hell this is the truth & fact

Jackson-coached teams are 40-0 when they win the opener of a seven-game series.

IMO: Since the 2008 playoffs opened the only team that is crusing is the Lakers.

Celts finally win on the road, to get home-court advantage back

Posted by supervisor on May-25-2008 13:54:

that celtics road win was really sweet. I got a little bit scared though when the pistons started getting momentum with that tayshaun prince steal, thank God their rally didn't last.

Posted by sr126 on May-27-2008 08:07:

i just want to see the lakers stomp on everybody. every other team in LA lets me down on a very consistent basis. Lakers need to break that trend.

Thanks you bald fuck Joey Crawford. You cost the Spurs the biggest game we needed. How the fuck is he still officiating?! Total bullshit.

Popovich just said in the press conference that he didnt think it was a foul

yeah I saw what happened at the very end. Were the Lakers over the limit at the time. I will say it was def a foul on the floor, not a foul in the act of shooting.

PS. Would of been better off in horry's hands than barry's in playoff last second shots.

Well you can't win'em all. Spurs came close though for the past few years. All I know is the Lakers have been steam rolling through the playoffs and they are not done yet. Keep it close and have kobe for the KO

Posted by Burn Notice on May-28-2008 04:33:

I believe that would have put LA over the limit. Bad on Barry for not selling it more but that would let everyone have a field day and continue the whole "flopping" Spurs crap. I don't get it, that dumbfuck calls every foul that didn't matter yet the ones that do like the drive Parker had that Odom goaltended which should have been a foul he completely passes. David Stern should just come out and say he doesn't want SA in the Finals.

refs may suck but when manu has 7 points come on. He is the spurs X-factor for big wins. His 3 at the end was nice but too little too late

Ohh no doubt about that. Ginobilli did an extremely pathetic performance. Spurs didn't come out with any energy and were playing uphill the whole game. I think we could have had the lead at least 7 times throughout the game. Just the shots were not falling. Everyone was struggling. But with the fate of not only the game but the Spurs entire season on hand then those small little blunders on the refs side can be the final dagger in the Spurs hearts.

Posted by Trancealot on May-28-2008 04:52:

I did not watch the entire game like usual but like I said as long as the lakers keep it close which they did and even had the lead they still have kobe. He might be good at getting away with rape but he is the MVP of 08

Pistons or celtics? WTF happened to pierce freakin waste. Oh he is soo good for one game and then back into hiding. He is the Celtics X-factor!

peace

I think he said that about 10 years ago. We've just learned to live with it. If you don't out and out take the game and win it then you can't blame the refs.

Posted by verndogs on May-28-2008 17:06:

Saw the highlights. This game proves how valuable Ginobili is. Spurs live and die with his performances.

Posted by Kapedano on May-29-2008 02:03:

I do not blame the refs for anything. We lost the game, just like we lost game 1. It's our fault.

I still have hopes, but it will be very hard.

I was surprised that the lakers won this so fast even without Bynum

Well if the Spurs play like they did, they might of swept us. First time I do not feel sorry for my Spurs. They deserved every loss. In fact, they should of have gotten swept to feel even more embarrassed.

well, out of those 5 games, 4 of them were decided in the final 3 minutes. 2 of the 4 the spurs lost big leads. those games could have swung either way.

grats to the lakers. lakers are just too young and quick for the spurs right now. the spurs need to look long and hard about doing something about their roster during the offseason, because there are an awful lot of guys in their 30s.

Posted by partyhopper on May-31-2008 03:21:

Just like the good ol' days, Lakers vs. Celtics it will be in the Finals

Posted by Trancealot on May-31-2008 04:29:

Before I said the celtics might crush but now I am not so sure. Anyone give me one reason why LA won't win. They have again and again steamed rolled teams so why not one more.

Ultimate goal: Keep it close until the 4th and have Kobe turn it on. Gasol is their X-factor and if he does well the rest of the team will succeed,

For the celtics, have Perice and Allen show why they call it the big 3 and not the non-chemistry 3 we been seeing the past few weeks. Garnett is obviosuly good but on a team with other all-stars maybe to good for him to handle. Thats why he passes on opens shots sometimes I noticed.
