I think the statement that blacks are more likely to vote uninformed is borderline racist, particularly when there's absolutely no fact behind it.

I never once stated that blacks are more likely to vote uninformed. I did however state that almost 100% of black people voted for Obama...which was stated on CNN last night. I would suggest that a percentage of those voters voted for Obama because he was black and not because of his political stance.....there is no way almost 100% of any race would vote for one candidate because they all agree with his political platform.

The fact that approximately 600,000 black people in florida, who were registered to vote in the last election didn't but this time did seems to suggest there is a percentage that voted for Obama because he is black....or for some strange reason they all happened to agree with his parties platform this time around.

Or before now, there was never a candidate that they felt was worth voting for.

You have absolutely no idea why blacks voted the way they did, so to assume more of them voted on race compared to whites isn't appropriate IMO. Tread carefully when trying to make that argument, because it's difficult to draw the conclusion without coming off like an asshole.

I already said that there is also a portion of the voting population that would have voted McCain because he was white....but I think overall Obama would have benefited more from this type of voting...and no its not just blacks and whites I am talking about...I am talking about all voters.

I don't think he has ever said that nor does any reporters but the fact is he is NOT black.. malado is the term that should be used more often since there is a larger group of mixed raced ppl!

You clearly do not understand how ballot measures work:

1) Ballot measures are state specific referendums.

2) Ballot measures are NOT considered party votes (they are party agnostic).

Since the 1960s roughly 80%-85% of African Americans have voted for the democrats (prior to FDR and even Kennedy most African Americans voted for the republican party [the party that ended slavery]).

In this election ~92% of African Americans voted for the democrats.

I don't see the (marginal) difference being statistically significant enough to determine race motivation amongst African American voters.

Seeming to suggest they decided to vote because of skin colour sounds like racism to me. Or maybe because as you may or may not know that Obama also spent 4x as much money, and time to acquire the votes in Florida in comparison to McCain. To me, that sounds like sound strategy in trying to win an election. Black people didnt just decide to vote cause theres a black guy on stage, they felt they wanted to vote him in because he was their voice.

By your logic, are you saying any black person off the street could just run for president and get all the black votes on skin colour alone? Im sure its not the fact hes intelligent, highly like-able, and reaches out to the average urban american more so then McCain.

ugh...those people in the photo were conservative christian whackos (my opinion). They overwhelmingly vote Republican and most likely voted for the McCain-Palin ticket. Bah its not worth explaining.

once again...I am suggesting only a percentage of the voting population (all voters) voted for Obama because he is a minority. I have also stated that a percentage of the voting population voted for McCain because he is not a minority. I do believe that the advantage would have gone to Obama in this percentage of the population that vould vote based on the fact Obama is a minority.

ur totally off marcos. it was because he was black. lets think about the average american who has an attention span of a 4 yr old. do you really think they gave a fuck about paying attention to his political policies? All they saw was black, heard through the grape vine that hes charismatic and bam, showed up to support him. We are all just lucky he was the right man for the job.

but then again what type of job is it really? you're just a puppet.so what does it matter if the puppet is black.

He did not win because he was black Eric. A quadriplegic chinese woman with tourettes would have won this election after all the shit Bush and the Republican party pulled the last 8 years.
