Most people arrive around 8-9pm. If you arrive between 6 and 8 it shouldn't be that bad. Especially tonight...It's hard for people to make it out that early on Friday.

Regardless, the organizers told me that they improved the admission system at the door after last Friday's madness (6000 people!!!).

JAMES HOLDEN WAS AMAZING!

seriously .. it was my 1st time seeing him and my 2nd time @ igloofest. I really love James Holden and I hope I can find his set online soooon !!

Posted by Leif on Jan-31-2009 06:59:

Good set Greg, even my non EDM liking friends were loving it. I found the last hour of Holden's set quite boring... although a nostalgic part of me was wishing for Junior Boys - In the morning

My feet are soaked, freezing and covered in sludge. I still blame MSTRKRFT for the f*cking annoying pushy kids @ piknic. I also think I have pneumonia. Oh and nice to meet you Steve

MFA-The Difference

/end Holden a la Balance 005

wow!! What a sick song to end with. Had a great time. Sludge not a factor with boots on. Too many stupid 16 yr olds, but hey we need to accept that as igloo/piknic becomes more mainstream. Missed Greg's set live, but listened to almost the entire thing online. good shit!!

jesse, sorry couldn't meet up too many people! any chance for sets??

Posted by Dj Nacht on Jan-31-2009 08:33:

First and last Igloo fest! It was fun but definately not worth all the effort. Leif was nice meeting you , very cool suit! Greg played a great set indeed! Way 2 many kids around and 2 much slush! +42$ parking ticket

Posted by zeKsg on Jan-31-2009 13:23:

So that's it for Holden reviews? No more people going nuts about how well he played?

The guy is a beast honestly, always brings something nice.

I wish I could have come.

I will post Greg's set later on

Posted by PezCore on Jan-31-2009 16:10:

James Holden mixes like a maniac.. perfect transitions all night long.. though there was an hour that was kinda boring.. nice set overall.

my first experience @ Igloo, and definitely something to go back to next year.

oh and yeah, too much dumb 16 yo kids

Posted by julien2 on Jan-31-2009 16:38:

James Holden is probably one of the last DJs who make you think on the dancefloor

amazing

Concerning the kids, I decided to move to the back. No kids, plenty of room, and a speaker stack = great sound

Posted by Bertuzz on Jan-31-2009 18:21:

I blame the "kids" increase on the big advertising campaign for this year's edition. Especially on Musiqueplus.

I don't think it has to do with it.

I think it has to do more with word-of-mouth, music and weather.

Modeselektor has a younger crowd, with very smooth weather = 5000 people with lots of kids and very pushy people

The day after that, minimal techno (older people) and -33 degrees = 2000 people max, with a more mature crowd.

Both nights were equally publicised.

If it's cold today = less people = less pushy people

Of course MP ads play a role, but a lot less than I initially thought
