Vortex_SA u got some midi files of the track to remix? Happy Holidays to every one as well!

Hi i have a question for Vortex_SA.

The rules say that all the remixes would belong to the label so
If i don't win this comp (which i wont) would it still be legally ok for me 2 take out the parts from your track and finish it using my own stuff?.

The reason i ask this is because i dont make many tracks that i'm truly happy with, but i like my track and it would still sound good
(at least to me) without your parts.

And if i removed your parts, my track wouldn't sound anything like yours anyway.

Have only used the vocal and pad.

as long as you don't copy paste the midis and don't use any of the samples its OK.

If you take out all material (of which you don't own any rights) from the original there's no legal way they can stop you from doing it. That's 100% legal .

Actually one of my original tracks that's been released was originally a remix that sounded nowhere like the original

Never done a remix before and i was already close to finishing this tune before this comp appeared.
Just thought it sounded ok with the pad and vocal samples.

Oh man, I am gushing with excitement! I truly 100.00% finished a song for the first time... After only 2 days, from scratch!? It just flew together like a spring-loaded dance-matic house trap.
Marathon days though they were... Never done so much automation... Ever... I can't wait to get some feedback on it. I don't know any producers IRL for input, so I'll just have to wait.

Heh, and it really puts into perspective how far from done my other projects were, even when I thought they were close...

Man, thanks again to Xetro for offering up your song.

i'm havin a bit of trouble with mine lol, more than i've ever had, but i've learned HEAPS so it's all good has been goin up and down, slammed out the rough copy in a few hours, then spent days gettin some mastering down, then hated bits of the first cut, been tryna fix up the percussions and shit since then on and off between some other stuff i've been doin

summed up, it's love-hate for me with my mix atm

The last time of submission is 23:59 at the 8th of January 2009 (+0 GMT) if you want to be precise

but i suggest sending the mixes a bit earlier in case of problems coming up (the file didn't uploaded completely, uploaded the wrong version, the usual...)

Yeh honestly I'm kind of in the same exact situation and not sure what to do. I stopped working on the track a few days ago and started some other tracks, and when I keep going back I'm thinking "damn I really wanna trash this and start over".

But if I trash it I'm def not starting a new one again,
and right now I don't feel like turning what I have in because I know I'm capable of much better.
So if I can't do some magic in the next few days I may pull out of this competition.

Trying REAL HARD not to but its either all or nothing and right now I'm in the middle.

my remix is almost done, just need to work a bit on the automations and on the arrangement.

i think i will submit until the end of this year, cuz i'm gonna be wasted after new years eve LOL!

I think mine is going to work out pretty good to! This is actually the 5th attempt on the remix and I'm very happy so far, too bad you can't upload a sample ...

Mine is also pretty different from the remix, but like you sed, thats why its a RE mix!

If my remix sucks should i send it in?

i'm having serious problems with logic atm, something's buggered up on my mac, and it keeps freezing, and i can't figure out why...

the point is, i have an exported version, but it's not complete, and the end of the breakdown was something i was experimenting with, so it sounds pretty shit... if i can't fix it i guess i'll up it for some feedback anyway, but yeah...

i'm pretty much out unless i can fix logic in the next day or two

We still have one week left! don't lose all hope! and if you don't want to send the remix don't send but if you do ill give feedback back if you'd like that

Still experimenting with something new...prolly will send it in by deadline day

polished mine off yesterday ! quite happy with it.

ahh it's just ridiculously frustrating cause there's a million different reasons it could be screwing up, but everything i try just doesn't help... i've been googling and logic-forum-dwelling for the last couple of days, will hopefully figure something out...

i just need to export the track with the updates i've made, the updates are small but crucial, like volume adjustments etc

but yeah i'll deffinitly get some feedback even if i can't properly complete it

EDIT: FIXED!!!! thank the lord of EDM!
was a problem with massive, and with the new mac OS update!!
i reinstalled a better version of the mac update, and then when i opened logic it crashed but told me the REASON!

so, can't use massive anymore i guess there go my mad bass-lines..

haven't finished a track in ages but i managed to complete this remix yesterday
