I would say your best bet would be to put yourself on a reduced guestlist. That way if something happens and you don't make it, you're not out the money. It'll also save you from hassle if you don't get the tickets on time.

yup, that's way smart. I travel out of town for shows and that's what I like to do. Sure enough, sometimes I buy pre-sales then for some reason I can't make it and I'm out of luck.

your name gets puts on a list, you show up + ask around for the "guestlist line"... you get in line, say your name, be given a ticket and pay a reduced cover at the door...
