If you want to acquaint yourself with trance i wholeheartedly recommend the following:

X-Dream - Trip To Trancesylvania
Earth Nation - Terra Incognita
Man With No Name - Earth Moving The Sun
Art Of Trance - Retrospective
Vibrasphere - Archipelago
Solar Fields - EarthShine

You have no say in what defines good music.

What's so bad about the stuff he recommended?

Wrong.

What would your equivalent list look like?

Hahaha, who's we?
Sometimes you can have a opinion about something without letting your personal taste affect it to much.
I never bought a MJ record, that's how much I liked him.

RapidFire, Renzo and even Woscar made some very good points I totally agree with.

This is one of the reasons why discussions over here often aren't discussions. I always try to keep in mind my view on things could be wrong:

I'm looking forward to see some new documentaries about MJ, which maybe change my view or not.

You, sir, are a fucking moron.

Who gives a fuck what you think? You're the same dude who gets picked on by everyone on here and cries himself to sleep longing for the days of prog. For fuck's sake.

Indeed. I'm looking forward to seeing some documentaries, as well.

In that case, please stop making obvious logical fallacies for the sheer sake of it.

Maybe you should make that list, so we know whether or not to pick on you.

Posted by Renzo on Jul-03-2009 22:34:

He was busting balls about the music being shit, so I busted his balls back. That's all.

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Jul-03-2009 22:35:

I'm pretty sure he was being serious, though, while you were simply bashing his taste for the sake of needling him. Have you even listened to the stuff he recommended?

Posted by Renzo on Jul-03-2009 22:37:

Let me get this straight. He calls the entire genre of music shit and it's ok, but the moment I tell him his music taste is not much better, I'm the asshole.

Holy shit, this is gold.

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Jul-03-2009 22:39:

He bashed the artists in a short list, not an "entire genre."

Posted by Renzo on Jul-03-2009 22:42:

Ah, what was I thinking?! Only a few artists! What an incredible asshole I am!

Posted by woscar on Jul-03-2009 22:43:

Let's give this thread its fun back, shall we?

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Jul-03-2009 22:44:

I never called you an "asshole," I just said it was inane to bash music in "revenge" without even hearing it because someone doesn't like a few artists you do. It's childish.

Posted by Renzo on Jul-03-2009 22:47:

I didn't say you called me an asshole. I called myself an asshole. I have heard the tracks he posted. Every single one of them. I'm not a fan, but that doesn't matter in the least bit. If he enjoys the music, let him listen to whatever he wants. The reason I posted what I did is to bust his balls. I already explained that. Stop making this a bigger issue than it should be.

Posted by woscar on Jul-03-2009 22:50:

You guys should really watch the mariachis rock "Beat It".

Or should I say "BEERET BEERET NOWAN WANS TOO BEERE FEERET!!!!!"

That Michael. Getting people heated up in conversation. Even from the dead.

Posted by RapidFire on Jul-03-2009 23:22:

hows this...let's forget the innovation argument for a second and look at him as an artist regardless of what trends he started. he made some of the best pop music in history and deserves to be talked about in high regard after his death. hopefully we can all agree on that

[making this a bigger issue than it should be]

Yeah, i'm sure you have. They are not tracks, they are full-length albums. Seven albums by six different artists, that i recommended in a thread about trance. You quote me on that in a completely unrelated thread about Michael Jackson and make presumptuous claims about my taste in music, just because i criticized Justin Timberlake, Usher and Black Eyed Peas (and Michael Jackson)?

[/making this a bigger issue than it should be]

Posted by RebeL9 on Jul-03-2009 23:56:

Usher is shit. So is Justin Timberlake.
I fuckin pee on them.

Posted by Renzo on Jul-03-2009 23:57:

Word. R. Kelly got it right.
