i'm just busting your balls man. i am an avid blues fan, so it is just hard for me to accept madonna as such.

Well, when I say I have a love of blues and gospel, it's mainly manifested in the white-boy blues of people like Zeppelin, The Doors and Primal Scream. A lot of early-90s house records have those bluesy, gospel scales and melodies too. So I'm not really claiming to be a blues purist, I just love to hear its influence in popular music.

blues = rock and roll pretty much.

if you have not seen it , watch the movie cadillac records, it is actually very amazing and eye opening I'm not an adrian brody fan, nor beyonce, but they really did a great job.

her renditions of etta james tracks are stunning

What made you "acidise" Madonna? And is that ReBirth or do you have a TB-303 or clone?

I have a copy of Acid Trax playing underneath it.

Still need to catch up and get this and the Mr. Mystery one, both look pretty interesting.

i really enjoyed this system, and the acid trax vs madonna made me go wtf in a good doombot rimming mark anthony kind of way. Even the trancers included had a place and were put in at the right time. Good job, i would not be quite sure how to attempt a mix like this, yet you pulled off a wide spectrum of ranges quite well here.

Impressive mix System J, I liked the transition to Supermassive Black Hole.

I was really surprised by how well 99 Problems slipped in there. Great mix - I think I enjoy these types of genre-bending forays much more than a classic dj set these days. Far more varied and entertaining, and full of surprises.

Thanks for the praise, everyone. I wasn't sure how it would turn out - when you're mixing so many tracks you know so well, it's difficult to sit back and listen objectively.

Have enjoyed the first two mixes.

Let's see what the third has to offer.

quite nice done jack, the mixing is nice for most part. trackselection was good. the acid trax mashup trick thing was good but offkey at times, but i think it's part of the fun.

i have done that a number of times, mostly by mashing it up with donna summer's i feel love, an idea i stole from dave clarke. but i also mashed acid trax with kylie's better the devil you know and i think whitney houston's i wanna dance, both mainly when i was just fucking around.

What key is Acid Trax in? For me it sounds atonal and I can't hear it clashing.

I tried to keep the mixing quite simple where possible. There are a couple of fader slams in there. It doesn't benefit to try and hold long mixes in this kind of set.
