LOL we can be serfs! SERFS UP DUDE!

Posted by Halcyon+On+On on Jun-30-2011 19:23:

No, but if we give more money to the Government, they'll certainly create ample opportunities for the downtrodden!

Posted by srussell0018 on Jun-30-2011 19:37:

We could solve the debt crisis by selling all of our illegal immigrants to China for slave labor because they're not real people or anything. Two birds with one stone imo.

Posted by enydo on Jun-30-2011 19:39:

I'd rather give the government more money because they can continue to funnel that into suppressing nations in the name of democracy.

What if we just print a whole bunch of Chinese money? THEY'LL NEVER KNOW.

I hear yacht-building is a growth industry.

there's a difference between giving money to people vs. letting them keep more of what they earn.

a lot of companies right now are sitting on enough money to technically hire or expand, but they understandably won't because there is little consumer demand, and the uncertainty of what's coming down the pike next month, next year, 2 years from now, etc. is not enough to take the risk.

And lowering the taxes of the people who are in charge of those companies is supposed to give them incentive to create jobs or expand? I'd also contest the notion that CEOs of many Fortune 500 companies actually "earn" the amount of money that they're paid.

Republicans, do nothing, say nothing. They just bitch and moan, and that isn't even coherent. You guys fucked us good Kevin, thanks for destroying America you piece of shit.

That's funny, considering the Democrats still haven't produced/passed a budget that was due 9 months ago, and just sit back and flamethrow republicans over everything they propose. Obama is too busy golfing and campaigning to show leadership... his answer was to put Joe Biden in charge of negotiations. and we all know what a joke that is. Last time I checked, we have had 30 months of Democrat control... time to stop blaming Republicans like a little bitch and admit your messiah is the architect of a failing economy.

it's not that simple... businesses, especially large ones, make decisions now based on 3-5 year projections. if they don't know what to expect, it's in their best interest to hold off until they can realistically predict. A lot of the hesitation is that nobody knows what the hell is going to happen regarding taxes and regulation once Obamacare is fully implemented, which is supposed to happen in 2013/2014. To your other point, yeah I agree that it's questionable what CEO's make... but who are we to dictate that? If they take too much money and fuck their company up as a result, they'll have to deal with it. Shitty companies should be allowed to fail.

we wouldn't be having troubles with our economy if we just changed our currency to skrillex, there's just no open minded and forward thinking individuals running this country right now

I am not defending bail outs, but they tried that with Lehman Brothers and when it failed they realized that "oh shit, this sorta thing is going to take down the whole world economy if we keep letting it happen"

Bail outs are inexcusable, but we have put ourselves, the world has, in a position where very few entities hold up the rest of the global economy.

Isn't this thread supposed to be about thinking that homosexuality is a disease?

I wonder what Nathan (Comrade Stalin) would say about this idea. Hopefully he'll give his 2 cents.

I wonder if ICP gets their name from John Wayne Gacy.

So... they're supposed to actually pass legislation while the Republicans effectively stonewall them on every detail while playing the blame game? Granted, the democrats have done way less than most would have wished them to.

Partisan politics is the stupidest fucking shit. Let's just pit everyone against each other and solve nothing. (just look at this thread)

Posted by The17sss on Jun-30-2011 20:46:

John Wayne was born in Iowa, and his parents did live in Waterloo for a period of time.

I wonder if Obama knows how old his own daughters are. Anyone see him get their ages wrong twice yesterday? No? Meh... we'll give him a pass.

Posted by enydo on Jun-30-2011 20:47:

He's black so he must be retarded.

His daughters must be pretty dumb too. I bet they like rap!

They were unable to stonewall anything until February 2011. His budget was due last September. And the one budget proposal Obama did try to get passed was voted down in the senate 97-0... how's that for bi-partisanship? He couldn't even get a single senator in the Democrat controlled senate to sign on. That's how bad it was.
