If I'm right you can get it in France since 2008. It was forbidden for 12 years. Studies in Holland didn't show any negative effects of Redbull. I believe someone already mentioned sort-alike studies.

I've been swamped with work this week and had to with less than 5 hours of sleep each night, and I feel like if I go to bed now I will sleep for 12 hours... but I haven't been out in a while and I've been looking forward to an allnighter with Gerd Janson, so I'm going to pop one or two red bulls in a short while and just hope that I won't drive myself off a bridge on the way back

Rarely drink coffee or energy drinks but I have a can or two of soda a day.
Posted by iluvatar88 on Mar-15-2013 19:45:
I usually have 2-3 cans of Relentless to get me through the day. It used to be 4, but i'm trying to cut back.

Although I mostly start with coffee at work, I never had the feeling I need coffee to get started. Others really need coffee to get started at all.
Anyone else here who doesn't clearly notice the effect of drinking caffeine?

That argument is fuckin pointless. "folk" have died from water.
"too much" of anything isn't good for you.
Just balance the shit out. If you don't like it, fine, don't drink it.
But statements like Rodri made (red bull being somehow worse than alcohol/nicotine) are just outright wrong.
I drink a cup of tea pretty regularly, and a 1.5l of Coca Cola maybe once every second week.
This weekend I'm at a LAN party tho, so on my 2nd can (250ml cans) of Red Bull, and popping the first Coke Zero later today
Sleep is for the weak.

This was the best decision I've made in ages. Now the headaches and irritability have gone I feel much better. Helps that I've had a couple of quiet weekends and I've been able to catch up on some sleep.

What decision?
Posted by Lira on Mar-20-2013 14:07:
Funny you mention irritability. The only time in my life I felt really irascible was back when I took some caffeine pills to help lose weight.
I may have shouted at someone in traffic back then.

You can cancel out the irritability from caffeine with marijuana.

But the racing heart just ends up with my feeling anxious and worried about having a heart attack at such a young age...

There's actually some new research that shows moderated intake of caffeine has benefits to the cardiovascular system. I just can't remember where I read it. It was a couple years ago now that I recall coming actoss it in the news somewhere.

Red wine too. But next to a positive think there probably is also research showing something negative.
Posted by Silky Johnson on Mar-21-2013 12:51:
Oh for sure...just sorta saying that most things in moderation can actually be beneficial to health. And interesting to learn that coffee isn't as evil as made out over the years. Heh.

Or, you know, eat right and all that all other shit. If you're doing all the right things to begin with you shouldn't need to depend on a caffeine pick me up to benefit your cardiovascular system.

Hahahaha you fool. I never once said that NO caffeine is the best way. I said that if people eat right, get enough sleep, etc...they won't need to acquire caffeine addictions to get through the day. Which is true. Fuck.
Look at most people who hit a "3 oclock wall"...typically they don't eat enough through the day/have enough fuel in the tank.

Is this supposed to be a sequitur?
Posted by Silky Johnson on Mar-21-2013 14:42:
Honestly, fuck off. I get it, you have a problem with what I said. Jesus you are a crusty fucking rectum. Maybe go to bed a little earlier? Lol.
Posted by srussell0018 on Mar-21-2013 14:51:
Do you know what sequitur means?

If you agree to stop making endless "If you do the right things you won't have any problems" posts on every subject with the clear implication that you're some fucking guru who knows exactly how to live life properly, I'll consider it. And don't waste the springs of your keyboard with some asinine "I don't think I'm perfect, lol" response because I am not going to believe it.

Well actually, I am some fucking guru who knows exactly how to live a good life. That's what that piece of paper I earned is for; therefore, it's the thing I'm most qualified to talk about. Ever heard the saying "Write what you know?" Jesus.
And before you rip into my post, again citing some shit I never actually said , I'm fully aware that everyone has a different idea of what a "proper life" is, and that not everyone has access to the same resources in order to live a certain kind of "good life". I like how you morons think that, because I said one thing, I automatically believe all kinds of other shit. Do I really have to write some long winded paragraph every time I post for you fucks to understand me?
You have taken a simple comment and made a huge
fucking deal about it. I'm not even sure why I'm defending the intent/meaning of my post to you, because every time you "quote" me, you over generalize what I ACTUALLY said. Furthermore, I'm not sure why you think that just because I make such a comment I must be referring to my own life. That's your own fucking inferrence, so go ahead and keep getting pissed about it, lol.
My initial post is a goddamn fact, lol. Also it wasn't even directed at you - it was in response to whoever said "take caffeine pills". Which is perfectly appropriate whether you think so or not.
So kindly fuck off like I asked you to. I don't care if the shit I say is "endless" or comes off like I'm wagging my finger. It's just what I know to be true, and I will keep fucking saying it as long it's relevant to the discussion.
Suck it.

I repeat your own post back to you practically verbatim to make fun of you and I get this SRUSSELL-esque self-defence. Fantastic.
You act the same way whenever some discussion on managing your life comes up, whether it's finances, relationships or health. If you saw any other person run their mouth in such an assertive, preachy manner about how people should do things, you'd tell them to get the fuck over themselves. Someone who thinks they know exactly what everyone should do to avoid mistakes and unhappiness comes across as obnoxious. And again: don't bother sharing with me your self-delusion about how you think you act. This whole shitstorm of the past week basically started because numerous people were making fun of you about it, so I'll draw my own conclusions about how people interpret your personality.
