I think it's perhaps because I've seen him live this year, downloaded livesets, and been keeping tabs.
On the whole he's improved the second half of the year, but not that much. up until a few months ago he was playing basically the same set ffs! Some of his mixing is atrocious. If it's not just the sets what is it? productions?? if so HOW THE FUCK did he get to #1... He's Paul Oakenfold wannabe, only without the talent
Another DJ living off past glories

Yeah freak, that's not what you said me in energy dance festival 2.0 here in athens that you saw PvD!Before that party you saw Tiesto a week ago and you told me that he was shit...

Don't make me say more about what you personally said here in athens while we were dancing and you were melting for listening to "Nothing But You" for the first time that PvD played it in a liveset... remember? I do... certainly!

Well, I'll have to apologize.I recognize my mistake, I didn't see the DD set you mentioned, its awesome though. But not compared to Mayday 2002 of PvD!

After all you *personally* prefer Tiesto.Ok, I can't tell you anything about it, it's what you like!

Sorry once again, Peace.

Did you know that...

...you don't need to post a new reply to every quote you want to comment? All you need to do is to use the Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V thing for copying and pasting, the Quote button right above the text box and voila: you can do everything you want in just one post

(I'm just trying to be helpful here, don't get angry or anything )

No, there is no point to get angry!I had in mind that copy/paste stuff but i didn't know i could use them here!

Let's hope for a better future.

i dont really need to explain the reasons for my actions to the 50th tiesto fan, because all you need to knwo is that they are very much supported with evidence.

i mean downlaod the set rip of green martian wizardy and listen to the first few beats...

and where the fuck are dumonde???? bah, as for stealing what did the no.5 DJ in the world steal???? hmmmm i think it was a track from the no.1 DJ in the world... called..... 643. playing tracks in a random order??i didnt know there was a linear order.. if they sound good in a particular sequence.. go for it! cos his sets sound good to me. an what the fuck do you mean he gets people to make his remixes? i think youll find every producer has a little sidekick to help make remixes and tracks... give me a specific example cos im mighty curious about this one. you cna t count magik muzik remixes, co shes never claimed to have remixed them.

MY point : that magazine is RETARDED...

"gay" was an idiom or expression/slang ....

and for the record ... i'm from india and even i know about matt hardwick...

off the record:

as far as i can recall not one dj has ever been here except for paul oakenfold as part of his essential mix world tour, who came to goa in '99 ... i wish there were more folks playing there as there are a lot of TA's back home and trance is very popular ... just because oakey played there, he's my no 1 dj!!!

Posted by miki0 on Nov-04-2002 03:16:

Ive seen some pretty interesting but especially ignorant remarks in here but one totally tops the list.
I read that Paul van Dyk - For an Angel is from 1994? Very interesting but back then PvD hadnt done a lot either yet and For an Angel is really from 97 instead of 94, but it doesnt affect his dj skills in 2002 now does it?

And Tiesto being an oakey wannabe but without the talent?
Dont get me wrong here, I absolutely love both of m but Tiesto is definately a better mixer then Oakey. My mother can even hear that. And as far as I know Oakey has used so much more of Tiesto's work then the other way around or not? And Oakey's quality is choosing the right tracks and def. not mixing m together.

Just accept the fact that Tiesto is #1 and nobody else is.
Next year's another chance for all of m innit

Man, the DJ Mag charts are a load of monkey's turd.
The results are effectively compiled from a panel and also votes from readers both submitting vote things in online or whatever. From that you can more or less say that whoever promoted the voting thing for a particular artist stands the most chance of winning.

Personally, i do agree that Tiesto is good, but on a overall comparison, does not make #1.. i am sure that tiesto fans will disagree with me, but i would say that its all a bid commercial bid to see who can spend the most money on advertising media.

this is #1 DJ no? not producer as far as i'm aware.. and tiesto like many others seems to play the same tunes just in different order to me..

Dancing Dude

the only top 100 i would belive or think more of is if the ta'z did one!!!

Posted by breakdown on Nov-04-2002 11:10:

Furthermore as written by top man Nick Warren:

"what alot of you are unaware of is that a large number of high profile dj's employ the services of a pr agent , this costs the dj on average between 500 and 1000 pounds per month to make sure they are constantly in the press, on radio and basically in the public eye at all times, i have allways been of the opinion that if i have a product ( ie cd ) to sell then do the press and media but dont want my ugly mug in the magazines month in and month out , what ever your opinion of tiesto he is probably the most popular dj in the world and doing a big stadium tour as he did recently in the states projects him to the kind of people who like to vote , but dont get downhearted ( what shocked me was layo and bushwacka"s placing ) just go out and see the people you like , dont get caught up in all this doom and gloom about the busines and feckin enjoy yourselves"

well said nick

I just realised now....where the fuck is M.I.K.E
M.I.K.E for No.10 IMO!!!!!!

Posted by jp on Nov-04-2002 11:39:

Scooter deserves a place in the top 10, because he (they) are in the business since 1992. That is not a joke, I just realised they are making music over 10 years now

heh, I grew up listening to them I don't really like their latest tunes, but there are some good oldies, like "Waiting for Spring"... reminds me of when I was 15 or so The same goes for Radiotrance, but they're not very well known, I guess

It's too much based on American votes/taste. So therefore 'worldwide' isn't the right term.

Sorry friend that's BS considering that Tiesto is the first NON-BRITISH DJ to win the award
