Yeah man. I'd wager this is my favorite era since the golden age of late 90s/early 2000s Northern Exposure/Twilo/Communicate. Stoked to see that pounding dark progressive sound making a return.
The wife and I went to Solomun this past weekend. The party was held at Frameworks new venue in Glendale called "Re-Frame". It's an old sound or film stage/studio near the Amazon warehouses. I have to say the venue (outdoor area) was awesome. The main was floor was HUGE and the production was done really well. I don't usually attend these big events (or hardly any events) unless we've got a few other friends going.
Musically, I'd have to say I enjoyed the openers set by Max Stlyer. Wasn't expecting a lot from him but he played really well. I'd love to see him do a proper headlining set.
Solomun played his typical Solomun sound. Lots of bangers with sampled vocals in background. I used to love this when he'd play old school songs that I was familiar (80s and 90s pop tracks and stuff). It sounded like he was using a lot of modern pop music (current main stream hip hop vocals) though. All in all, it was FUN. Danced a lot and appreciated the banging tunes. His set didn't take me to the deep end as Sasha and Digweed did a few weeks ago but still fun.
I appreciate what the Framework group does. Great artists and great production. My only complaint is the crowd. Maybe i'm a little older and can't relate to the younger group that they draw to their events. A little more ruder as well with shoving past people with no regard for others. I could be a little biased because I was just at the S&D warehouse party where everyone was just SUPER COOL yo. It's like 2 opposite ends of the vibe spectrum.
that's it for me. I'm retiring now.
lol guess im going to tomorrowland and dekmantel this year
also going to skyline in LA next month, and bothchella, and lighting in a bottle.

Going to check out what GV is doing with this Club Darc on pier 48

We're down to less than 60 venues in SF (from ~120), so I'm so glad more capacity is being introduced. I don't go to venues anymore because they're always oversold - pretty much only do music festivals. It would be great if more supply could get out there to balance out the demand. Until then, i cant in good conscious spend money on tickets
Pier 49 is difficult for us to get to, and logistically challenging since its next to the arena, but still good to have a new high cap venue. i hope they do well to pull crowds away from the overpacked and oversold clubs
Was just in Tokyo with the family. Blocks away from Air and Womb, and got an itch to look up events back home. Dreamstate for Gouryella is tempting

Looks like we're going to check out Guy Gerber this Saturday at Re:Frame. Just really going to check out the venue. I've only heard good things about the spot.

Guy Gerber at Re:Frame
Wonderful venue. Lots of space, great production from sound to lighting. Not overly packed. Crowd for the most part was pretty cool. The Framework crew did a pretty good job of creating a great experience for the crowd and the lunar new year theme by having Lion dancer and acrobats on stage. There were also ladies on stilts and a dragon walking around through out the area.
Guy Gerbers set unfortunately was pretty boring. I was expecting something a little more from him. A few good tracks here and there but overall, was pretty bored and we left at 2AM (event went till 3AM).
Overall, I'd definitely return to the venue in the future.
Going to Burning Man and EDC Colombia in October.
Happy I have events to look forward to. Guess you can call me semi-retired from partying.
You aint ever going to retire, brother. It's our DNA!!! We just pick and choose the proper ones to attend.
How many BM events will this bring you to?

Hey, been a few months. Haven't really been on this year - not since missing S&D in LA in November (we were gonna meet up!) due to gov shutdown/flight nonsense.
Crazy 2026 so far, had a 4-month-long cancer scare starting in December. Thankfully it was benign, but had a bunch of tests and a couple major surgeries. Long recovery and on surveillance. Looking up now though!
Been totally out of the music scene this year. Just saw S&D are back at Silo Dallas again in October. If it's another 4-5 hour set I'm probably down.
I'd go see Underworld again, too, what a show last year. I thought about one of the Boards of Canada listening parties (does that count?) for Inferno but didn't make it.
Otherwise I'm hoping Michael Burmeister plays a set somewhere out of Germany. Listened to a bunch of his stuff when I was in the hospital. Never thought I'd be a techno guy but here we are.

Thanks man. That's the plan.
I did just get tickets to Sasha and Digweed at Silo (again!) in October. Quite looking forward to that one. If it's anything like last time (and what you said LA was like) they'll blow the roof off.
Digweed is performing this weekend here in LA but sadly can't make it. Could be a last minute decision change though. Those all night parties are ROUGH!
