I'm almost positive it was named after the flight from Amsterdam to Ibiza.

Come on people, can't you read the previous pages...

*glares* Only kidding.

Cafe Del Mar is a bar of sorts in San Antonio, Ibiza. Basically a terrace where one can sit and enjoy the view while listening to chillout music. The Cafe Del Mar albums compiled by Jose Padilla reflect this atmosphere.

The name Chicane refers to a feature of a racetrack... a chicane is a quick, S-shaped series of turns which requires the driver to slow down almost completely. Nick Bracegirdle wanted his music to have the same effect on the listener.

Mondial means worldwide, when talking about something like an event

carte blanche translates directly to 'white card.'

it doesn't mean ... freedom to act

When we're talking about "carte blanche" in french, we are (most of the time) talking about freedom to act - except if you are really talking about a white card; but otherwise its freedom to act.

quote:

Micro Tools - Triomphe De L'Amour
Means triumph over the love

You're close, but it means "Love Triumph" think of it like "Triumph of [the] love"

quote:

what about Milk inc - La vache
whats the meaning of that?

Yep, that's a cow alright! - Warrior character, Diablo 1
(lol, it means "The cow")

quote:

cosmic gate - fire wire??
isn't fire wire some kind of a computer thing? used for connecting somthing maybe? someone could clear this up!

Yep, its a kind of connected developped by Apple and Sony. Apple calls it Firewire, Sony calls it iLink. It's also called (and well known) as IEEE1394

quote:

SHOKK - folie a deux
madness as two

Either my english is bad, but it doesn't sound right, here...

folie means madness, generally. In this case it would be nice to use "crazy things" you can do.. then it says " deux", which, word by word, means "at two", but you should read it like "together", like in two person in a couple. So you should understand it like "crazy things (perhaps in a sexual way ) with two person"

The italian word for origin is origine... I guess it's just a latin looking made up word, like L'Esperanza, which is not in any latin language

Very informative thread.
The things you learn...

I was wondering about these...
Nugen - Braaj - Lemon 8

I'm guessing Nugen is like New Generation or something.

Hubbub it's a loud uproar...of confused voices. 'noise' could be its closest synonym.

of course, that tune is a lot more than that

Lemonade? (However, since the producer comes from Norway, he might pronounce "lemonate" or he just wanted to do something stylish )
