B-Day Props

Ok, June 11 is my 24th birthday.....

Tiesto is playing on my birthday in Toronto. I've got the Thursday booked off @ work.

Tiesto is one of my favorite DJs..... I would DIE if I had the chance to get my "in search of sunrise" CD set autographed or even my vinyl signed by the #1 DJ in the world (DJ magazine).

Does anybody know the promoters or have a connection so I can get an autograph on my CDs or vinyl? That would be the best b-day gift I've had in a long time! Meeting Tiesto would be AWESOME!

Or should I just mail his management company and ask for props? (yeah, like that would work - maybe emailing 'the docks' would produce a better results!). Any suggestions?

Posted by LKD on May-13-2003 13:29:

^^^^^^dood....after all the parties uve gone for with me, i think u should know by now that the best way of gettin an autograph is by standing up front and demanding for one oh and also grabing everyones attention

Posted by Trigger on May-13-2003 17:57:

Good luck with mr.rockstar though. He was too good to stop for autographs and got the hell outta dodge after his gig here in Dec. Lets hope we see the freindlier Tiesto we used to know this time round.

Here's a thought:
Perhaps Tiesto would be friendlier if we weren't such JERKS, and didn't cut him up everytime he spun here, complaining about his playlist and his mixing. Do you blame him for being a jerk when he comes here? I don't.
We need to change our spoiled attitude in Toronto, then maybe DJ's like Ferry would come to our TA pre-party meetings like he did in Montreal.

People are allowed to be critical, especially when they are paying some exorbiant price to hear a DJ. And you have no idea why Ferry attended the Mtl pre-party, do you? You're just assuming that it has to do with Montreal's "non-jerk" attitude.

There is a fine line between being critical and bashing, I find we here in Toronto tend to bash DJ's more often than being critical of them.

Amen to that.

People are entitled to be critical if the DJ fucks up a set or does something unprofessional (i.e. Sasha, or PvD in Montreal from what I've heard). However, when people start criticizing a DJ over his tracklist when they know that DJ's style, when they've heard dozens of his sets, etc., it's ridiculous. "I didn't like 1 set out of the 53 this DJ has spun, which must mean that all of his sets suck." And let's not forget the classic "This trance DJ sucked because he didn't play any prog house tracks." Or "he concentrates too hard, he doesn't get INTO his sets enough." Or "he's so lame, he spins CDs instead of 100% vinyl."

DJ bashing is ridiculous.

^^^^^when i read locomoco's post, i was gonna say the exact same thing in the morn..but ive said it so many times, nobody learns....

and people...TIESTO DOES KNOW OF TRANCEADDICT....and people report back to him...same goes for several big name DJs...TRANCEADDICT is a huge phenomenon and all those who bash DJs are just blind to that fact...

its not only registered members that read tehse forums...a shitload of others who lurk and maybe laughing at how immature we tend to behave

i agree 100%
but alot of those "bad" posts comes from ppl who usually don't know the DJ too well. Personally i think u cant judge a DJ from only one night.

dam right any dj could have a bad night, you never know, they are human too...
other people just bash dj's becasue they don't like them...
I guess everyone has got an opinion, and another point is that there will never be a single dj that everyone will like, so each dj will get bashed some time or another...

Posted by LKD on May-14-2003 01:32:

personally, if i dont like a dj's style, i jsut stay out of the roll call/event thread...

if i dont like a dj and im posting in the thread, i refrain from bashing cos its pointless....i wish everyone could be like me

exaclty it pointless, you start arguying about other stuff and the whole main topic of the thread gets changed...

if people wanna bash dj's or get their point accorss than start a new thread, and not make us read stuff we don't want too...

ex if there is a thread about a meet up and people start talking about something else, personally I don't really feel like going through all the post and trying to find info out what the thread is really about and where it went off topic...

keep it simple and stick to the topic

Actually.....Tiesto stayed backstage partying it up with the VIP people until past 8am after he left the stage just past 5am last December at the Kool Haus. I heard this straight from that girl (her name is Blanka) that was dancing up there...she had really big titties and lightsticks....long blonde hair. Anyway, she was back there and apparently, Tiesto was smoking dubies with everyone and got wasted and then threw this girl out who kept demanding pictures. Pretty funny stuff...oh well, at least I got to shake his hand when he VERY BRIEFLY signed some stuff for us loyal fans at the front.

Anyway, does anybody know what the fuck is going on with tickets for June 11th? Holy fuck...4 weeks to go and no ticket information....pretty lame. Makes me wonder if it's even happening. PVD @ Viva memories coming back full force!

Yepper....Not so sure if Tiesto actually visits this site every day, but he does check out his own site pretty often from what he said in a recent interview. I mean....like, if you had your own site that was being visited by hundreds of people, why wouldn't you look at it when you had the time? But yeah...Tiesto does get word of stuff on here I imagine. Just like I'm sure he knows he's continually bashed on trance.nu (and here as well).

Ah well...if Tiesto ever reads my posts, he knows where I'm at. I've got Tiesto shit all over my profile and sig and avatar so.... Tijs knows he's my God....I told him that myself last December.

Not to worry anyone, but there are rumors of another goldclub event being cancelled due to SARS - Carl Cox at Guv. And that's at the end of June. *how unnecessary*

I imagine the tickets aren't on sale yet because there won't be as much demand for the event because it's a weeknight.

I wouldn't worry that tickets aren't on sale yet... Freedom tickets only went up last week, and the party's in 4 days.

Skipper, you said "another" Goldclub event being cancelled? Which was the first one?
