Cheering for them is fine, Ya im cheering too, I hope they win, BUT I'm talking about the people, who won't even admit that they cheered for another team prior to cheering for Italy. Remove all evidance , and replace with everything Italy. Clothes, flags, MSN names, celebreating in the Italy areas, etc. People who just want to cheer for a winning team, instead of facing the fact that thier " first choice" has lost, and move on. Cheering for them is fine, But it seems like EVERYONE is an Italy fan NOW but weren't before hand.

someone i work with actually just did that...he actually busted my balls for being italian too and now he has the flag on his car. i dont get it either

yesterday, i watched the game at a stadium on a giant projecter and then went to champs elysees....along with 500,000 other people apparently (according to the news).

if france wins on sunday, i dont even know what to expect considering how crazy last night was.

people are still going around honking and randomly yelling stupid shit all day long. lol

definetly. but what I find worse is when people cheer for the team that always wins. for example, nearly everyone I know wanted brazil to win. wheres the fun in that (unless youre brazillian)?

YES. 90% of my friends..BRAZIL fans. And 1- they don't even fallow Football/Soccer and 2-They just go for them because they seem to win alot. " Brazil is the best team ever, of corse they will win, that's why i'm cheering for them, I don't care about it, I just want them to win " I'm a Germany fan, sure they may not win alot, so what? I'm a fan, and losing (or winning) doesn't effect if i'm going to cheer for them or not. I don't hate or bash other teams, but I like who I like for specific reasons, and " Just because " Isn't one of them. Or people who wait for the finals until they " pick " thier " favorite " team. Most fans have a number of teams they cheer for in a particular order. When one gets knocked out, then they start cheering for the next one. Bandwagoners arn't real fans, rather people who watch the games because of all the hype and claim to be supporters of the game when they dont know any players besides ronaldo and beckham lol.

I was backing England at the start and Italy, Spain & Holland were my next favorites (in that order) so its obvious who im backing. Anyhow, im still disappointed at englands exit but had predicted an italian world cup win b4 the start of the tournament so im happy that for once my prediction came through. Football's usually very cruel to me .

Yes most fans do have a number of teams they cheer for. Cheer being the key word. But when It's clear that you DID cheer for another team and then you hide the fact that you cheered them but never ever showed interest in another team until they lost....that's not being supportive, that's ridiculous. That would be like me waving around the flag of Germany for the past 3 weeks, but now I'm going to wave the Italian flag** or Portugese flag when I never ever montioned that I like dthem , or I was a fan and supported them.

** I say Italian the most, because that's who most people seem to be "switching to" or leaning towards.

lol, its like you said before with the key word being "Bandwagon". Fair weather fans, don't really care about any team rather they just want to be among the so called cool crowd majority supporting the favorite team to win.

Even in the club system, at one time everyone was supporting manchester united and real madrid but now the consensus has shifted to Chelsea and Barcelona.

It doesnt really affect me though, they do more good than harm by contributing to the atmosphere. Unless they are citizens of a participating country, let them have their fun but ask them to name more than 2 players from the team they are supposedly backing just for the heck of it .

As annoying as the banwagoners ( or whatever else you would like to call them) are, It's truly laughable. They don't know what they are talking about half the time, nor can they hold a convo about the game they just watched. It is funny if you think about it. Gave me good laughs the past few weeks.

I think ur just upset about germany's elimination. Sorry i just had to say that but weeks of dealing with malek on the sports forum, im on a bit of an anti german football run these days.
