CHRIST JESUS! That right there is insane -- $20 for UNLIMITED "NORTH AMERICA" LD?!?!

Fuck me! That's bloody brilliant!

The 20$ for UNLIMITED is itself cheap as all shit!! That's a fucking landlie price (like i pay for on my home phone).

But the whole of NA part is further icing on the cake... not just Canada... North America... WOW!!

DEALIO!

who cares when you have unlimited province wide calling?

Posted by VDub on Dec-12-2009 14:18:

Wow...

I am not impressed with those prices...

There's no way I can threaten Rogers with those plans...

its a step forward in the right direction and why would you want to stay with a company that has more expensive prices? I dont understand, you're trying to make a better deal for yourself, even though there is something better? (and hopefully more of these companies will emerge and create more competition)

Ppl dont talk that much anymore, unless your in the business sector. Txting is preferred 95% of the times, even the dinosaur generation is moving forward.

My last bill I've used ...

VP
5mins = Day
30mins = WN/WE

DP
250 MB

Txt Msging
600 = Outgoing
450 = Incoming

Only threat I see is the business ppl moving over, they need more daytime mintues and this will save their bills.

The bad thing is; they all need to buy whatever blackberry unit offered in that network, due to the 1700 band.

apparently it costs no more to call someone in Vacouver than it does someone in Toronto on an all IP (HSDPA+) network. I think the only reason why "long distance" on most cellular networks is still charged today is because of a general lack of understanding among the overall public about this.

That's very interesting to learn... we're being taken to the cleaners (but not even the way I assume we were)

GooglePhone by HTC - Jan 2010 Fully unlocked

Hardware partners be damned, Google is pursuing world domination and is doing so with its new Google phone. Plastered all over Twitter are enthusiastic tweets from Google employees and their friends expounding the awesomeness of a hot new HTC phone handed out to the them by mothership Google. The full touchscreen handset runs Android 2.1 and is supposedly slightly thinner than the Hero with a sexiness that rivals the iPhone. Did we mention it has a Snapdragon processor, high resolution OLED display and dual mics for noise reduction and advanced voice-to-text features? The Google phone will be built by HTC, customized to Googles specifications and sold unlocked in early 2010 by Google. It has been suggested but not confirmed that the phone will support both T-Mobile and AT&T bands UMTS. According to Google, the phone has been handed out to employees so they can be the guinea pigs, testing out the new and exciting capabilities of this phone. If youve got one or have shots of it, you know where to head!

I've been month-by-month about a year now with rogers, and maybe the new pricing will convince them to match or beat it, but lock me in for a few years

TeliaSonera launches world's first LTE network, awaits phones eagerly

TeliaSonera has today flicked on the green light for its LTE networks in Stockholm and Oslo, officially starting the countdown for LTE-enabled phones. For the moment, keen mobile webstronauts will only be able to hook up their laptop or other USB-equipped device via the Samsung-provided 4G modem, but 100Mbps download speeds on the world's first commercial LTE network are still nothing to sniff at. This rollout is in fact slightly ahead of schedule, and the other major cities in Sweden and Norway are likely to soon get treated similarly well, while TeliaSonera makes a point to mention it has a license to do similar damage to Finland's 3G operators. The US might not be too far behind, either, given that the modem in use in Scandinavia recently cleared the FCC. Now if only we had phones that could ride these massive waves we'd be all set.

Japan's Docomo Network has already surpassed these speeds and that's only test mode so far.

Posted by Dr. Z on Dec-14-2009 16:07:

Why do people insist that LTE is 4G?? idiots.

Posted by E2EK1EL on Dec-14-2009 16:51:

^^^^

That's right homeboy ... Docomo is calling their new network, Super3G. Confirmed pushing speeds to 300-350mbs, their 4G LTE will be faster then anything that's heard of and that's gonna be much later on.

So apparently this is what WIND's plans look like...

quote:
So, we finally got some great news today!

Since Wind will now be going forward with launch, it seems like an appropriate time for passing on some of the details that people have been most the most anxious to find out: Pricing!

As I've shared previously, there are three plans that Wind will have available. These are, with pricing included:

Data Plans
Infinite Mobile: $35 per month (used with any voice plan)
Unlimited internet for phones (tethering too)

Infinite Laptop: $45 per month
Unlimited internet for USB data sticks

Possibly there will be a web on your phone only type data plan for $10/mn.

BlackBerry data plans
Social BlackBerry: $10 per month
Unlimited instant messaging, Facebook and MySpace.

Infinite BlackBerry: $35 per month (used with any voice plan)
Unlimited internet for BlackBerry

Addons:

SMS: 10c each
MMS: 20c each

LOL, that would be me .... just what I was waiting for! I knew I'd be in a position of power now. I'd still have to be offered a super sweet deal for me to sign a contract. I'll just wait for their call.

If Rogers could slap that on my month-to-month, I'd be as happy as a pig in shit.
I may firm up for a year even, or longer if they upgrade my iphone to a 3GS.

^^^ Your asking for the world @ that price and contract length.

$10 Mobile Web Surfing is for WAP phones only, not ment for our HTML phones.

For the last 2 yrs on Rogers and Fido, ppl have had their apn & proxxy settings changed to use this service to abuse unlimited data w/ many phones ... as of Nov 26 09 it all stopped now.
