No, a plane makes perfect sense, looking at the pic.

Brisbane doesn't look that exciting for th air. I con't find any pics from space though, except google maps.

I'll check Brisbane out on Google Maps later, I don't think I know what the city looks like, at all. Any buildings I should look for in my virtual sight-seeing?

Not really, Brisbane isn't that exciting "The 'Gabba" should stand out from an aerial point of view (it's the Brisbane Cricket Ground - A pretty large stadium on the inner east side). And the Morningside cemetery is just down the street form me!

The flora there doesn't really look like you're in a Savannah, right? Here it looks an awful lot like Africa, vegetation wise. It's a shame there are no awesome animals around here, though.

You're right, it doesn't strike me as stereotypically 'Brazilian' but then, my steroetype of Brazil is dense jungle and rain forest

You lie though! There are awesome animals everywhere. Mostly feathered You just have to look/listen. It's weird... once you get used to tuning into stuff like that, you see/hear them everywhere you go. Their sounds are clearly definable over the regular human sounds, like traffic, talking, whatever - even in cities. It's not on most people's minds though, so I hear so often that places 'have no wildlife' etc. They're in there

Bah, I can't even imagine all the amazing birds you have there in Brazil

Haha, what I meant to say is that there are no lions and elephants around here. It's really frustrating in that sense

As for birds, my parents often "adopt" a few wild birds that enter their house looking for food. In their new apartment, a bunch of Great Kiskadees are often eating from the dog's bowl:



And, in the house I grew up, hummingbirds abounded. If you're lucky, you can spot some parrots and macaws even here, though they're not really common in the savannah, as far as I know.

Edit: Oh, this one time I saw a hawk-ish kind of bird at university. I can't remember what it's called, though.

That bird (in the pic) looks so similar to some of out Honey-Eaters here.

And I'm so unbelievably jealous that you have Hummingbirds, we don't get them here And we obviously don't get Macaws

Parrots we do get, though mostly of the smaller variety (Rainbow Lorikeets). Beautiful and colourful though. From my bloggy thing:

For about 2 months when all the trees come out in blossom these shrieking hooligans come in packs of 100's, sit outside in the trees at 5am. It's like living next to an old age home full of people that are 90% deaf.
