I love the mackie! They are the best IMO. Simple, easy to use, built-in amp, built-in protection so you don't blow the speaker, incredible sound. That one little speaker does the job for any house party or BBQ. It's simply amazing! Cost about $700. Worth every penny!

Do you think the Mackie SRM450 is better than the JBL Eon 10 or 15 (similar design self-powered speaker)?

I was in a little club last week that had a pair of the 450's, very nice sound, and the DJs there liked them a lot, no reliability problems over 4 years. They sometimes bring in a subwoofer and they say the combo is excellent.

I found the jbl eon 15" had more more bass than the mackie srm450. But aside from that, i personally think the Mackie sounded a little better overall.

That's the one thing the mackie lacks...bass. But overall sound, mackie wins hands down!

If you can afford it, buy the 18" sub and you'll be in business

haha, no, its just the camera i used had a 30sec exposure so it takes as much light as possible from everything. i could hardly see anything in the room when i took it.

what do you mean 30 second exposure? how could i take a pic like that?

Posted by Siang on Dec-09-2004 01:38:

30 sec exposure means the shutter stays open for 30 seconds. If you have a digital camera, its likely theres a setting to leave the exposure open as long as you want it.

Posted by anth_on_e on Dec-09-2004 01:48:

ya there is a setting but im not sure how to cahnge it lol i have a sony cybershot pro

Yeah, they're not that bad. Obviously they're not gonna be Technics or anything, but they're not that bad.

Hey Luke, hows the CDX for mixing trance, I know its great for turntablists, but what about EDM DJs? I gotta say I had a brief mess around on it at the shop, really liked the effects section, it does seem like a kickass CD player, just hate the look of it and that they made it to be battle style.

Its great, took a little while for me to get used to it but now I'm fine with it and it feels like just another deck minus the tonearm.

I can't really scratch so I don't use it for that I just mix with it and have had no problems, but my mate came rnd the other day and showed me some really neat tricks so think I'm gonna learn.

The effects are brilliant I find a new thing to do with it every time I go on it. I have done a video mix with it check the link below and you can see for yourself, I have only managed to upload half of it so far my upload speed aint great so it takes a while.
