For people on the edge of the line, like me, it could be a big deal. Is that dot representing Aurora in the middle of Aurora, or does it reach to the Newmarket border?

I'm in Aurora and have a 416 number. I've long enjoyed having a 416 number from the 905, with 416 being a local dial number, and all of a sudden 416 being long distance for me would royally piss me off. I'll follow up with them because I would be outraged if this were the case.

Ppl on Wind who are enjoying their "unlimited" calling and txting, are getting calls from Wind. "Your usage is too high & there's a fair use policy in effect, your account has been warned."

Wind doesn't seem to be so friendly as promised

The Blackberry Talladega (Mr. T) is very, very nice.

The fair policy states that if a Wind user goes over 5,000 hours then yes, the user must be warned. Who uses a phone 5,000 hours a month? If you do then you seriously don't have much of a life and/or hate your day job.

the most I ever went was 2300 something....back in 2002...I'm still wondering how.

Most ppl who are getting these calls are using max 3 hrs of talk time a day and txting, no idea of the amount

180 mins x 31 = 5580mins/ month

I don't even use more then 10mins of talktime for a month lol Txting is the way nowadays.

Remember I stated 5,000 hours a month not 5,000 minutes a month. 5,000 hours a month is more than plenty. I could give the phone out to all my friends and they still wouldnt be able to go over the limit.

Posted by VERTiG0 on Jan-29-2010 23:37:

Well given that at most, there can only be 744 hours in a month, I'd say 5000 hours is more than plenty.

You've got something all wrong here.

even if you messed up on that and meant 500 hours, if there are 744 hrs (as Cale said cos I aint gonna count), that would mean the person would barely sleep a couple hours a day...this person would have mush for brains.

Posted by Ravist on Jan-30-2010 00:26:

it was probably 500 hours, the salesman just probably made a mistake telling me it's 5000 hours or I heard wrong. Either way its more than enough for a month.

Went to Wind @ STC today to confirm this Fair Usage Policy, it's only for Data. Voice and Txt Msg is unlimited, with no hidden BS.

The reason why they give you a call, is to confirm if the unit has been stolen or not. It's an extra care for their customers, and they "note" the account as not stolen. Since stolen phones tend to be abused with airtime and data.

The Rep even said there's some crazy rumor about these "negative" call backs, and accounts being noted.

I know this has already been mentioned, but it is worth repeating:

These changes are ground for being in a legal position to cancel your contract with Rogers (material and significant change to the original agreement). You must do so before February 12, 2010.

If you were looking for an out - now is the time!

I talked to a rep from Rogers today and told him of this "breach of contract" and he explained to me that because they notified rogers clients 2 months prior the message was posted, that people will still get charged the extra fees if they cancel their contract early. So wtf is going on? What's going on here? I'm hearing 2 different stories and as of now I believe the Rogers rep more than any of you.

Original LCA changes were made two months ago, but they've reseted the map back to normal within a week. This ver is the revised map.

You have to push - they are not going to make it easy to cancel.

I don't work for Rogers but know people who have gotten out of their contract with this.

I'd really love some more info about getting out without the ecf's...

As good as my plan is with rogers right now, im dying to move to wind and have about 6 months left on my contract..

What would my rebuttals be? When I say I want out because they changed the calling areas, and they say no, what can I come back with? Being from Toronto, how do these calling area changes effect me? Anyone?

Posted by E2EK1EL on Jan-31-2010 17:03:

The first map released 09.01.09

http://www.fido.ca/cms/pdf/lca/LCA_TORONTO_EN.pdf

The second map released 09.08.09

http://downloads.rogers.com/wireles...TO-LCA_maps.pdf

Noticed they're a week a part? Rogers re-adjusted to make Oakville & Toronto, not Long Distance anymore. Sorry they took down ver 2 map

Office of the Presdent of Rogers - Filing a complaint

See this page:
http://your.rogers.com/contact/complaint.asp

(Or just call, during biz hrs: 416 935 1100 and ask for off of Pres. You'll get a voicebox, leave a msg asking for callback.)

There's all the weapons I can give you, good luck. Dont say I dont help you guys ...

I gotta call customer care / rentention to see if they can add some LD mins to me, even though I dont call Oakville, I do have family there and before all this mess I "could" of called them.

Posted by LightsOut on Jan-31-2010 17:13:

^^
Thanks....

I have a couple family members in Oakville as well that I call, so if thats switched to long distance now then that'll give me a legitimate argument to make....

I'll give them a call on monday and report back on my progress..

^^^
the second map is coming up "404 not found", have another link?

Posted by E2EK1EL on Jan-31-2010 17:36:

2nd Map is taken down since the present revised map is now the official LCAs. The weapon used for this case, the LCA maps had been majorly revised 3x and it's unfair.

1)unfair
2)changed back to normal'ish
3)back to unfair

Quote the dates you found them.

So how does that change anything? Btw when I called them, Rogers already canceled my contract without notifying me. Give me some more substantial arguments against them and I'll go on to round 2.
