I think by lucky (and that's how i see it as well) he meant that they got a lucky draw and a relatively easy way to the final, while France had to beat all the strong teams (2 of them portuguese lol).

I don't really like either of the teams...I'd have to probabbly take Italy over France anyway but they definitely got lucky.

Life's a bitch - some get it easier, some get it harder. You couldn't have had a tournament where each team had equally strong opponents. The losers would have bitched and moaned anyways.

Italy's win was not due to luck (although they occasionally got lucky) it was due to amazing defensive skill and intelligent play.

I guess we should have told Australia and Ukraine to lose, instead of having the gall to knock off higher-seeded teams. Honestly, unless it was round robin for the whole tourney, not everyone could have played Brazil.
