i liked star wars 1+2 tho, would like to see the 3rd, even tho i wasnt a fan of 4-6

you like the Matrix movies but not LOTR? Wow....generation X member indeed you are.

As for the Star Wars prequels.....they aren't nearly as good as the Original Trilogy. I liked Episode 2 much better than Episode 1, but the first three were just so....classic.

Next you'll be be telling me that Dragonball Z was a better cartoon than Transformers.

as far as sci-fi goes, i dont think i will ever experience something greater than dune....BY FAR it dominates starwars, lord rings, matrix, and anything else.....and im almost positive nothing will ever come close to it

HAHAHAHAH ur comparing dbz to transformers?? wtf , its like saying teletubies is better than matrix or something...DBZ is one of the greatest stories ive ever heard....in terms of action/adv type thingy (excluding other animes) i havent seen anything compare to it...its WAY better than matrix and , ive never seen transformers, but it looks really shitty compared to dbz

Best anime is probably Rourin Kenshin (known as Samurai X here in NA). Evangelion is great too, but I didn't like it because that stupid main character ruined most of it for me.

I liked DBZ, but then after realizing that its the same shit over again but with an even more powerful bad guy, I gave up on it. It had it's cool moments tho.

LOTR will forever stand the test of time for being entirely original. Or at least borrowed ideas from mythology (scandinavian mythology I think) and Tolkien adapted his own ideas and incorporated everything to form Middle Earth and its history. That is why it is a legend. I agree some parts were INSANELY boring but I mean Tolkien had to be because he was creating a world, he had to describe in detail everything...you can't do that and just rush through everything otherwise there would be gaps in the story. Things have to be explained in depth and everything has to have some sort of reason for being the way it is. (like the Dragonlance Chronicles Trilogy, also VERY VERY freaking good). I haven't read Dune but have heard goooood things about it, I will check it out.

Best Anime ever, I'm going to have to say Ghost in the Shell the movie. Series wise I'll go with Cowboy Bebop. and story wise would have to be Witch Hunter Robin.

You've never seen The Transformers so how can you comment? I've seen both and Transformers, even though it was created to sell the toys, was a far superior cartoon. Maybe you're too young to appreciate it (I think you can't have been born any later than 84 or 85) but when (SPOILER FOLLOWS in case you care), Optimus Prime died in the Movie that was released after the second season in 1986....I think almost every young boy balled their head off. I recently purchased the first two seasons and the movie on DVD and it still stands as the best cartoon ever made. I think a lot of people will agree with me on that, depending on their age of course and if they even remember it.

^^ i saw bebop the movie, like it, got the whole series, but havent watched it yet

ghost in shell was good, but in my opinion, akira is greatest movie of all time...like ALL time, including hollywood crap, animes, any kind of movie out there (its like a suped up matrix 1, if anyone is interested, goes way deeper and the main character gets way stronger than that pussy neo)

haha ur right, that was cheap on my part to say it sucked without watching it....but still, have u seen the real dbz? like japanese made, and not that crap cartoon network plays? i agree that the cartoon network version IS actually worse than sesame street, but the original kicks ass.

hmm actually now that u mention it, is the dvd in a silver case? i think my buddy has it...in that case i will watch it

Posted by StealthAssassin on Nov-11-2003 04:20:

I think the best movie of all time is Fight Club, as a whole it is the best

I only remember the cartoon from the mid 90's...and i didn't like it at all.

As for The Transformers on DVD....yes, all the seasons are in a silver case. The first season had 16 episodes, but the second and third seasons were divided into two parts because they each had more than 30 episodes. Each season set is pretty damn expensive in Canada, but it was worth it for me.

Since you never really watched it as a kid, you might not like the episodes...but watch a few and check out the movie. That movie killed off so many characters.....the writers had balls.

I just meant that everyone has gotten SO off-topic!

Posted by Flec on Nov-12-2003 00:41:

ummm are we a little of topic here? how does LOTR being so amazing make the matrix a bad movie?

im not saying the matrix series is AMAZING, im saying YES it made sense

Posted by Endlesswave on Nov-12-2003 00:52:

I never said Matrix was bad Shane. I thought it was good...just some parts were

Posted by Phunky1 on Nov-12-2003 02:24:

oooook....this is a super late post cause my comp. crashed few days ago and now its finally fixed.

Anyways, I saw Revolutions on saturday, and I thought it was just brilliant! I didn't really expect more from it, it was done fine!!! (I'm tired of people bad mouthing The Matrix) I thought the acting was alright, Keanu Reeves bothers me somtimes...everyone else was good...there were some cheesy parts, like the part with Kid opening the gate, and I also thought the Trinity death scene was WAY too long, the audience was getting restless!!! I don't need to say much about the special effect because everyone knows they were great in all 3 movies....

As for the story...I thought the story of The Matrix was a work of art! I just love thinking back to the first movie and just thinking "WOW!". The Wachowski brothers made a visual masterpiece, and one of the greatest stories I've heard in a while! It's a total mind-fuck! I loved it!

Now, as for the ending...I really saw it coming, cause there is no fucking way they could get rid of the machine world! But I still thought the ending was wikkid, ya, there isn't much of a climax, but thats what I thought was so genious about it. It wasn't a good or bad ending really, the saga goes on... I gave this movie a 9/10...1 point taken away from Keanu Reeves and some cheesy parts!

ALSO! this is the best Sci-Fi scince T2!!!

Didn't say it was a good movie. just stating that in a short time the movie has made alot of money. Infact, Warner bro. considers the movie to be a flop.

I'm angry because I paid 10 dollars and the movie really pissed me off. Not answering questions that you (as filmmakers) have raised is bad filmmaking and a cheap way to "make people think" as you said. Besides...over time, the big budget action flicks appeal to me less and less. I prefer the smaller films (like Mystic River or 28 Days Later) as opposed to Pearl Harbour and the Matrix. Either it's because I'm older, or Hollywood is shittier than ever. I'd say it's both.

LOL!
I think it just went over your head
