Ok- Idea to maybe speed things up-
Everyone uploads a "main mix"
You can use it as many times as you like.
You cant use it against a same challenger
You cant use it with a judge who already heard it
everyone uploads their sets with a # only they know
I will have the master list and will place the 2 #'d sets in a folder with the judges name as the folder name for him to download and listen to.
Or I can just stream them for the judge.
You can still do live if you like- it just requires more planning of course.
All we would need is everyone to get their mixes uploaded with their # and ill do the rest after being told who challenged who
???
that's a cool idea, not for me tho, coz i like playin variation for diff ppz

| Originally posted by JohnSmith personally, i think that's bad idea. It will be counterproductive to a fresh competition, i think you should need to do a new mix each time. BTW, on that note, the FTP is working for me this morning, i will have my set up loaded to the Judge_M folder by the end of the day. Things are a little slow to start up, but it will pick up. |
yeah sure i guess so. although i didn't volunteer to be a judge, because it takes too much time, and bandwidth at my work. But, i'm willing to do one to get this going.
as for people who have faded interest, i say PM them all and tell them to get their ass in gear.

What I can do
If we can get one more mix- 5 total-
Everyone can download the mixes- and I can setup Round Robin
Tournament and I can judge mixes against everyone elses.
I wouldnt do mine of course.
I could take Luke T, Fleisch, JohnSmith and one other and pit them all against eachother (me judging by myself) and that would give 4 people 3 matches.
Make sense?
Just droppin ideas.

| Originally posted by JohnSmith OK, i'm downloading them. but i have to watch my bandwidth, my boss is getting pissed with the amount i am downloading, and has warned me about it. this needs to be all i get for the next week or two, which is why i did not volunteer to be a judge. |
yeah, 192 is not neccesary. i'm gonna do mine at 160 to match fleschs (note, not fleisch) but 128 would suffice.
128k is fine if you record + encode it with quality tools

Kaos and Luke PT Cruiser etc.
I was the one who said that I would judge your two mixes. First off, are you both done, and second, when does your challenge expire? Do you still want me to do it, if so I can finish it by tomorrow evening.

okay, then I'll start dling them, since by John's posts, he can't. I'll try to have a quick turn around for you, but tonight at least will be dedicated partly to wedding planning! I'll do my very best to be finished by tomorrow evening--at least before midnight anyway!
Also, are we going to have a rule about if it has to be a no-practice set, versus you can have x number of practices etc? Or are we going to leave that one up to the challengers? I personally think that it should be 0 practices, as John and I did.
This way we can also eliminate people trying to wait till the last minute to submit their mixes. We have to think of the judges' time too!

i'm willing to judge any match,
as long as you're able to set up a server at 24kbps :\
or at least stream at that rate.
btw, Nrg2Nfinit and TommyD had a challenge today.
i judged; it was live.
congrats to Nrg, although Tommy only had one minor detail against him. ![]()
TL:
Nrg2Nfinit
the roc project - never (Filterheadz dub)
dumonde tomorrow (jam x and deleon mix)
apoptygma berzerk kathy's song (green court remix)
frank e and mars l - song of the holy man
cygnus x - superstring (rank 1 remix)
foggy - come into my dream
andora - mental atmosphere
nexus -return from flatliner
dirt devils - the drill evac mix
TommyD
solid globe - north pole
jan johnston - calling your name (neo and farina mix)
kansai - roccoco
kotai - waiting
insigma - open your eyes (unreleased mix)
pulser - cloudwalking (beatpushers remix)
pulser - cloudwalking (astral remix)
Sorry Guys, i am gonna have to drop out.
I simply don't have the time to do this right now. Also, after hearing other peoples mixes, then listening to my own again, i realize how ridiculously outmatched i am. I still need more practice, and i don't perform well under pressure. I considered redoing my mix, but that would be pretty hypocritcal considering i insisted no retakes.
so, i will report my loss to flesch (i listened to your mix it's very good!) and then i will have to resign from the ladder.
as for my judging duties, I listened to both of the mixes today (i can download just not very much because i am not really supposed to at work) and they were both very good. I could hardly judge the mixing cuz i could hardly tell where the mixes were!
i will have a decision and post it here soon, when is the deadline for that one? not even sure who i am judging it was in the the Judge_JohnSmith folder.
