Apparently Newcastle have only been issued 1600 tickets for the away game at PSV Eindhoven.
It's probably because of the trouble that happened over there against NAC Breda earlier this season - 87 Newcastle fans were arrested in the city, mostly for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Hey guys,
just got my tickets for Newcastle vs PSV at St James's, I cannee wait!
))))))))))
Whereabouts you sitting and how much did it cost? I'm really skint but I'd love to make it.
Btw, the unofficial singing area against PSV is again the Leazes level 7. So if you want to avoid all the daytrippers/tourists etc and want to sing your head off then go there. This was adopted as the singing section against Mallorca and worked well, the lads organizing it got a mention in the Evening Chronicle and even the Sun! I was further down the leazes but I could hear them chanting the likes of "shoes off, if you love the toon" (this on a bitterly cold night!)
PSV should bring a few thousand fans over, unlike Mallorca who didn't bring any!
Howay lads!
I'm gonna be in the Milburn Stand near the Platinum Bar (?), it would be only the 3rd time I've been to SJP as I live in London
it was 46 for 2 people, 2 booking fee, 22 each!
not bad going tbh :-)
btw, have you been to SJP many times before? need ur help or anybody elses, need some info on how far holiday inn is from the train station, stuff like that.
If you are able to help I'll post the question
Cheers
I need to travel from Stevenage station to Newcastle, which will take 3 hours on the train.
What I need to know is, where abouts is the Holiday Inn in Newcastle?
Me and my mate will arrive in Newcastle at 6.45 (approx) which is an hour before kick off, at the train station, how far is the holiday inn from there?
I was thinking of dropping off the luggage at the hotel bunging it in the rooms and then shooting over to the stadium.
Is an hour enough time to walk to Holiday Inn and then walk to the stadium? how far is the Metro Centre from the main part of Newcastle? what good pubs are there?
I met a family up at Newcastle in March last year and it would be really great to pop in and see them again, it was a lovely pub/bar and I remember it pretty well,
I have pics taken in that pub, if I could post could someone try and identify the pubs name for me?
Thanks again.

yep, Jenas has been absolutely crap mate, same as Viana.
I still cant get over the loss of Solano
but I think this new Taylor guy looks very promising indeed, as does Darren Ambrose!
is Michael Chopra still on loan somewhere at the moment?
Cheers,
Chopra's not on loan anywhere now. Check your PMs, I've tried to answer your questions there.
The sale of Solano is possibly another indication that Newcastle's finances aren't all they should be. The club announced we only lost 7 million from losing to belgrade and we've still got the money from the PSV (and hopefully more) games to come. Yet the last player we spent any money on was Ambrose 18 months ago and even he only cost a million. No other club in the Premier league has spent less. At the end of last season the club announced record profits. Now we're reduced to selling Solano for 1.5m! With Cort gone for 2m and Pompey interested in buying Lua Lua for 1.5 or 2m, there's a good 5m from a season's sales. Surely we must be looking to buy someone this summer, Champions League or otherwise.

Actually im positive that chopra is on loan at Forset unless he has returned. From the bolton match that Steven Taylor was quite good.
i reckon for the next few matches jenas should be dropped and play viana in the centre, he complains when hes out on the wing and says that his better performances will come when hes playing in the middle, so give him a chance in the middle for a few games.
Also i see woodgate played for england
theres no reason why he shouldnt be playing for them all the time.
Another thing i think bramble makes too many mistakes, i say leave him out for a few games and bring that Taylor in to the centre as im positive thats his prefered position.
When Dyer/Speed are injured I think Viana definitely deserves his chance. I don't care how bad he is, he must be better than Jenas or Bowyer have been this season. Jenas has only scored 2 goals in over 30 full games this season, I'm sure Viana got more than that in just a handful of games last season. He probably got more assists as well.
As for Taylor, he looked promising but it might be a gamble putting him in the centre of defence at such a crucial time in the season. I think Ambrose is worth sticking with on the right though, the only way he will get experience.
I hope newcastle and marseille wini in the next round, so then i can go back to marseille and watch the semis.
also heard rumours about alan smith going to newcastle.. i always thought that hed be the ideal replacement for shearer at st james'. what do u guys think!
Noone could replace Shearer, Smith would be good value for money but I'm not sure he'd ever get 20 goals a season, which is what we need when Shearer hangs up his boots. Smith and Bellamy would be interesting, I'm not that confident it would work though.
i dont reckon smith would score the goals. imo i reckon we need to fork out on a class player to provide us with the goals when shearer goes, but as usual i cant see newcastle paying the money.
Newcastle's finances seem to be in shit state now. Haven't spent a penny on players for 18 months and we let Solano go for a small amount of cash. Doesn't look good does it. That 4th place must be vital to our finances, either that or winning the UEFA cup. We could quite easily get neither.
For those that don't already know, the first in a trilogy of Hollywood football movies will be set around Newcastle United. In the second film he fucks off to Real Madrid.

| Hollywood stars will be descending on Newcastle after St James' Park was revealed as the location for a new blockbuster. Newcastle United FC's stadium beat off competition from Premiership rivals to land a starring role in the forthcoming movie GOAL! The film will be a trilogy following the life of an American Latino boy playing in the Premiership. In the first film his team will be based at the city centre ground. Director Michael Winterbottom has chosen Diego Luna to play the lead role in the $100m (55m) film, with Good Will Hunting star Stellan Skarsgard as the team's manager. There may also be cameo roles for famous players and staff. Last week the production team travelled to Spain to record Newcastle's 3-0 Uefa Cup win against Real Mallorca. They will also be filming around Newcastle city centre and several of the city's top nightspots. The first movie will be released in February next year with the final instalment due to hit cinema screens in time for the 2006 World Cup. Producer Mike Jeffries said: "Newcastle is famous for a tradition of attacking and colourful football and incredibly passionate fans. "We believe the club and the city will provide a truly wonderful setting for our story." Newcastle chairman Freddy Shepherd said: "The club is looking forward to GOAL! because it will give Newcastle United worldwide exposure. "It's fantastic news for this city and we're looking forward to working with the GOAL! team. "For Newcastle it is a win, win situation." |

PSV 1 - 1 Newcastle
(Kezman) - (Jenas)
A good result, but we've still got our work cut out at home. The ref and his assistants were absolutely shocking, an incredible number of free-kicks (almost entirely to PSV), many of them for nothing, killed the game dead.
Surprisingly good performances from Jenas and Bramble. The only player I can really fault is Hughes who should have blasted Vennegoor's hopeful header into touch. Instead the ball bounced, he slipped, and Kezman was through on goal. Bramble backed off giving him space to shoot and PSV got a free goal from nothing, although it was a well taken chip by Kezman. After the initial 15 minutes when they looked very threatening we settled into a rhythm and took the game to them, and thoroughly deserved our equaliser. We allowed them more possesion in the second half but defended excellently. A fair result overall really.
the away goal wil do me. just have to keep our heads @ home and play some decent football
Hey guys,
fingers crossed you can help me on this one, this was a picture I took in the bar/pub (couldnt really tell, too smashed!) and the date stamp is wrong btw, this pic is of a family we met there, nice bunch! bought each other a load of drinks and got bloody wrecked.
Please ID this Pub/Bar in Newcastle
Hope one of you can identify it, I'd like to go in and suprise them, they go to every game and I think they said that is their "local" so it would be great to show up in there a year on hehe.
Cheers,
