you mean ADAM freeland?

If it's more of a career-achievement award, then it will go to PVD.

Especially if that djs production in a certain year earns your respect. Djs that produce on average have more and/or more adamant fans and will place higher on the poll. Nothing wrong with that. Every dj in the top 100 should have unprecedent mixing skills anyway (of course this isn't necessarily true), so this usually takes a back seat. Not saying this is right, but what can you do. Give me a dj that is technically flawless but doesn't produce, against say Ferry, and i'll enjoy Corsten more as he clumsily mixes into his brand new stormer. Production adds another dimension to a persons djing. Its an additional tool in a persons bag that can make them a better more enjoyable dj.

couldnt agree with you more

I voted for leama & moor.
I don't care wether they dj or not but from wut i understand the main point is to vote 4 whoever makes music that u admire &
leama & andy moor have produced excellent tunes so it would be unfair to even exclude them from the vote

Posted by basvh on Sep-03-2003 17:45:

my top 5 which is based on seeing a dj live this year!!So i didnt make a choice based on mp3 live sets. Mp3 live sets don't'representate the vibe of that night. So I think its lame to base your top5 on mp3

MY TOP 5
1. Tiesto
2. Laidback Luke
3. Carl Cox < 3 deck wizard, nothing to add>
4. Montana
5. Tidy Boys

what ?? noooo, DJ Mag Top 100 Vote is all about the 100 best Djs in the world.. Dont get me wrong they had some huge tracks this year but I never heard them spin... Never mind they wont appear in the Top 100 anyway.. way to unknown

Posted by teo on Sep-03-2003 18:13:

well i haven't voted yet..last year i waited till the last days to vote...anyway..i see some interesting things here...well what i'll vote , again, for is the best 5 djs for me...by saying the best i mean the ones who i think they dj the best (trackselection, mixing skills, contact with the crowd etc...) and the ones their productions are liked by me...so i kinda choose for both "dj" and producer...

Posted by DJ Mikey Mike on Sep-03-2003 18:22:

i definitely agree with you on that. but read T_2199's post

this discussion is a bit pointless anyway, nevermind

no, i wasn't there, thats why i asked

everybody talks about his "In Concert", when, as far as I know, it was just a regular DJ set.

Posted by dartrance on Sep-03-2003 22:20:

I think the concert had a huge impact on the scene in the netherlands, yes it was just a dj set but this was his greatest highlight in his career as well as for the dance scene up there

It sets him apart from everyone else, as well showing that dj's can do long solo concerts (already ferry is doing one in october now) and i hear more are on the way

I dunno, weather you like him or not no one is pushing themselves more than he is, i think its pretty obvious this is his time right now and will easily claim the #1 spot again

Though paul van dyk and armin are hot on the trails...

Posted by trance-ecj on Sep-04-2003 03:57:

1. DJ JamX & De Leon aka Dumonde
2. Armin Van Buuren
3. Paul Van Dyk
4. Pulser
5. Lange

Man I wish there were two more spots for Orkidea and Misja Helsloot...their time will come

Posted by teo on Sep-04-2003 08:41:

...so the question is will trance make it and have at top3 spots trance djs? coz something tells me sasha will be somewhere there (hope not )

ok then u got me
leama & moor get replaced by sasha
hope i haven't done much damage to the voting process
and for T_2199 i know theyr pretty unkown but maybe if
more polls/votes were done n producing this would change
coz they deserve it.

It wasnt just a dj set> Andain, Jan Johnsten, Kane did some live performences. The theme of that night was dance around the world, every 1 1/2 hour there was a continent introduced. so they also had some African bands, Didgeroo , South america samba people, Chinese dragon and fireworks, North american bikers, cheerleaders, breakdance people. Also every continent was introduced with music which representate that continent,Tiesto took those introduction over with mixing a new record in.

I think it wasnt a real concert and i think it wasnt just a dj set. it was a magikal night! very special, i have been to al lot of partys didnt see anything like it. Still this years dance valley was the best party i ever went to

Is there a party or something where they'll make the announcement?

Any leaks? There must be some leaks. I guess it doesn't matter, if you can wait this long I don't see what a few hours more would be.
