Helix, the clubs have to pay bills & make money, so whilst we may think lets get 50 or 100 people, thats usually not enough to keep the venue happy...
Icebox is probably a good size & i cant see why Josh's parties cant be sussessful?
When myself & strangis played at Halcyon, the numbers really werent that far off being really good. Why not close the Bohem lounge & get everyone in on the same floor???
I think there is some strength in the Sydney scene & plenty of people seem to know each other, you cant be that far off getting something really good happening.

Nothing but Euphoric, Uplifting, Energetic and Anthem Trance . It looks like the night will be pretty packed on March 12th so get there early.

Would make a lot of sense eh...

I was looking at one of the new Ministry cds in HMV yesterday, talk about absolute rubbish! Wall-to-wall packed with limp-dicked batty house tracks :/

This is an alright idea but which trance dj in oz would you want getting signed to the MoS label?? Sample Gees already taken with Universal and do any of us really want the likes of BeXta, Nik, JJ, Peewee, Or Nervous representing oz under the MoS label???

It basically comes down to the fact that you want high quality artists to mix the MoS cds so that a) they mix a good CD, b) they make Oz look good when they tour with internationals on MoS tours, c) they sell the CDs cause theyve got a good, well respected name.

You can see when you look at these reasons why Kid Kenobi, Mark, and GT are regulars under the MOS banner....

So who is there of good enough quality that could go under the MoS banner?? I cant think of a single sydney dj! Maybe theres a couple in Melbourne??? (this is in no way saying that we dont have the djs with the talent up here - diggs and morro, liquid m, cam, etc all have the skills but lets face it they just dont have the publicity needed!)

Your thoughts???

Posted by muli on Mar-01-2004 05:57:

jumping jack would be perfect to mix a trance cd for MOS.

He seriously has changed his style dramatically and loves uplifting trance. He said he hates hard dance now!

All the sets i have heard from him the last few times have been nothing but quality.

i've seen jumping jack twice live and I have yet to be impressed =\ I guess you have to be a fan of his genre to enjoy his music.

When did you last see him? And are we talking about the same Jumping Jack?

Posted by ivory_kitten on Mar-01-2004 23:01:

gumble... there is nothing even remotely decent here!!

all our clubs have been overrun with lame ass rnb dance mixes!!

there is only one club that plays any kind of dance music and its practically empty every weekend!!

i hate darwin and can't wait to move back to qld!!

If you saw him in 2003 then yea you probably would not have liked what he played (Hard bangin trance) but now he has gone back to his roots and the hardest stuff you may hear him play would be tech trance.

I used to hate what he played, but he really has changed.

Have a joint night would be the best bet to start off with, say Hardhouse Vs Trance night.

In perth we use to have 1/2 R&B 1/2 Trance night

Now we are doing 1/2 hardhouse , 1/2 Trance it worked out well just last week.

The Frantic E-Motion party seems to have a bit of a following and has always been a sell out and they are associating their nights with not just hard trance but also uplifting. Would it be worth us contacting them to see if we could perhaps have a room with "our dj's"?.We dont have a big enough community to put on an event such as Atlantis on our own but would be great if we could have something similar.

Posted by waXology on Mar-09-2004 07:55:

what are the frantic emotion parties?

Nick Skitz puts Mr Bishi songs on a few of his albums, and i wouldn't classify it as uplifting

please don't ask me how i know the tracklisting on a skitzmix album
