I guess it gets ugly people out of the gene pool

So now, if he wants to like an asian girl she has to be cute according to your tastes?

By the way, what makes you think that we don't have asian stereotypes here? Or that it's too different here? From what I read here, I guess I would have enough knowledge to compare, don't you think?

no, I'm saying that since asiaphile white americans are so "into" asian females that they like them physically when they are ugly in NORMAL non obsessed asiaphile standards.
YES, it is different there. I know all countries get hollywood movies but do you have conan o brian, jay leno, the majority of all standup comics reusing the same old stereotypes?

He can't go play yugioh, since people like you don't like cultures to mix and what not. Fucking retard. Yes there are people are just too obsessed with a single kind of girl. Dude you should be flattered that people admire your women.

Posted by mndeg on May-15-2004 04:10:

ROFL, YOU are a fucking moron, in fact, you're the worst I've seen online

you think it's admiration? believing asian women are oppressed, delicate, exotic, oversexed, and need to be liberated?

complete idiot you are

you think what's projected in media is actually asian culture? you think martial arts is learned by the average person? you think they serve fortune cookies in china?

And what would these beauty standards be? You said Lucy Liu is ugly, whereas I think she's very cute (but I don't think Ayumi Hamasaki is attractive... or that girl from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon).

We have Fausto, Didi... they don't use more stereotypes because they can't.

LMAO! You generalise way too much. You take what maybe a few people say e.g. asian women being are oppressed, delicate, exotic, oversexed, and need to be liberated" and apply it to everyone. I think that you should stop playing fucking victim here, and stop being a ****.

Asian women think I'm exotic and oversexed.

lucy liu on the left, based on acting skills and looks there would be no way she would be able to get a job in any other country as an actress

you are clueless, go outside
no one says that shit, it's whats inside the mind of an asiaphile
do you realize how many white people go to parts of asia to find prostitues? they take advantage of the people there

http://www.asianwhite.org/afwm/why.html

quote:
A none asian male who prefers asian women. This attracation is based on shallow perceptions and media stereotypes of asian women. An asianphile believes asian women are better to screw aroud with because they think they are more submissive and much weaker.

even urbandictionary.com knows more than you
quote:
A white male with a sexual interest in Asian culture and Asian women.
The Asiaphile browses Asian porn sites and has a secret Asian porn collection. He can usually name 3 or 4 Asian porn stars off the top of his head. He hangs out on AsianAvenue and Asian-American oriented message boards, adopts an Asian-sounding screen name, and pretends to be Asian.

In college, he takes Asian studies courses, tries to learn an Asian language, and is constantly trying to talk to Asian women.

The Asiaphile eats at Chinese buffet restaurants and thinks he's immersing himself in Asian culture. He tries to impress the waitress with his ability to use chopsticks and recite a few lines of Chinese.

Despite the Asiaphile's claim to be interested in "everything Asian", he almost always has no Asian friends except for his Asian girlfriend/wife.

The Asiaphile often makes sly remarks about how Asians are "hardworking", "polite", and "obedient". Yet despite the Asiaphile's supposed respect for Asian people, he addresses Asians in a patronizing, condescending tone that he would never use to speak to other white people.

A more advanced Asiaphile travels to Asia, supposedly to "teach English" or "complete a doctoral thesis", where he is seen patronizing brothels and massage parlors. He will try to pick up women with lines like "Ni Hao" or "Konnichiwa". Finally the Asiaphile meets his dream Asian wife, has a mixed child, and then gets divorced years later, when his misunderstanding of Asian people finally drives the relationship apart.

The Asiaphile is one of the lowest life forms on this planet

the last one is great

and in the media asians are GENERIC asians, they are a mix of stereotypes. they have the cantonese mimic talk "ching chong", the korean eyes, the japanese komono, or an ancient chinese robe

mndeg: the problem with your arguement is that it only goes one way

Are Asian women exploiting white men? Are they using them for their position and power?

Do they not find white men attractive?

You yourself are stereotyping white men!

You yourself stereotype white men!

yes, yes, and yes
they are practically made for each other, but like the quote on the other page, there's rarely a happy ending
My stepbrother whose mom is chinese had a chinese dad, they are now divorced. now his mom married a white guy and they had a mixed child. his mom practically doesn't even care about him, she's trying to change his last name to an American one

im not stereotyping anyone, the syndrome clearly exists
I didnt say everyone

Posted by Radagast on May-15-2004 04:32:

I agree with mndeg but not for the same reason.

My only concern is the choosing of a partner based upon race. That's the one thing you should leave out of your calculations.

Posted by Lira on May-15-2004 04:34:

I'll stop the jokes as I'm off to bed.

mndeg, have you realised you managed to hijack this thread with posts that didn't have anything to do with the original topic? Andy wanted to know who was asian and suddenly you flipped out as it was some thread about miscigenation... and it's not. Your stereotypes are quite annoying/funny after a while (about races, about music,...). Don't you think you're taking it too seriously, and generalising too much? Take less time judging people and more time trying to understand them (or even yourself: why does this issue bother you so much? Is it because of other people or because of your own life)

I'm too sleepy to make more sense. If this post is useful, great. If it's useless... well, +1

Posted by icyhandofcrap on May-15-2004 04:35:

whoa i leave this alone for a few hours and boom! +10 pages?

hehe i think its fine if white guy + asian girl...

i just dont like it too much because it means extra competition

Posted by mndeg on May-15-2004 04:37:

look, this thread was about who is asian on the TA forums, and then asiaphilies hijacked it with ASIAN WOMEN ARE HOT posts (search for posts about anything asian, pretty much all are or turned into asian female porn threads)

and you live in brazil, the media isn't nearly as dominant as it is here. people practically live by what they see on TV.

for example: we still have people still repeating the same old "lub u long time" phrases from full metal jacket (1987), same old old asian male must know karate, mr miyagi stereotype

"Tell Yao Ming, 'ching-chong-yang-wah-ah-soh."
-SHAQ

yeah, and shaq probably isn't very smart

I didn't see one post before yours saying "asians are hot", except for andy mocking jay because he "wanted" to be asian, as a joke.

Sincerely, what do you think Brazil is? You're aware that we've got the world's 4th greatest TV channel, right? (or something like it... I remember "Globo Network" is pretty big).

Posted by mndeg on May-15-2004 04:45:

i mean dominant as in influential, I think all races are evenly good looking

and saying a particular race is better looking than another is just plain unhealthy

Everyone is stereotyped ethnically.

Everyone thinks my name is Tony, I eat pizza, and I drive a Mustang!

W00t Globo is a wicked channel! I love watching them talk about soccer. The commentators and hosts of the soccer shows, go apeshit when discussing soccer.

right, and do random people yell that to you in the streets? Is that the first thing people think when they see you?
haha, doesn't even compare to them, you're just another white guy

Brazilian stereotypes for asian people (no, I don't agree with them, by the way):

Old asian men - Mr. Miyagi, or anyone who can kick your ass without moving his feet and say cool things like "Fear not, cat is wiser than tiger"

Asian girls - passive, exotic, beautiful and sushi makers. They're supposed to bow down and wear kimonos too, or attack you with shurikens if you cheat on them.

Asian guys - either super-heroes like power rangers (you've got no idea of how many of them we imported from Japan)... or a nerdy who can't pronounce the letter "l", saying "Hi Rira, is everysing ar right?"

Can't be arsed to type all sources. Mostly, it's something called humour, and sometimes it can be labelled as ignorance. But if you're really bothered by it, then you've got to chill out.
