More pics are comming out finally on Yahoo!

*Edit*
...well the CD players are sunken into the frame so you really can't tell what's underneath but the TTs really look disconnected, but then again who knows they seem sunken as well. That third TT is WAY out on the right there has the Traffic record on it...and he played that so...

why are there vinyls on the TT's if they're disconnected .. ?!

Posted by starsearcher on Aug-14-2004 01:06:

I like how all the displays in front of him and behind him show who's comming next and etc for him to pace himself and what he's playing

Pretty cool

Looks like the Italians are enjoying themselves the most... So many of them just jumping around to the tunes of lethal industry

ATHENS, Greece (AP) -- A tiny Icelandic singer wearing an ocean of a dress and a Dutch DJ with music flowing from his fingertips helped bring the 2004 Olympic Games to a wet and wild start.

Bjork performed her song Oceania during Friday's opening ceremony in keeping with the evening's water theme.

"You have done good for yourselves since you left my wet embrace and crawled ashore," the lyrics went -- and so went the waves of fabric intended to look like an extension of the thick twists of ice blue that composed Bjork's gown. The shimmering material unfurled from her feet and spread over the heads of many of the thousands of athletes who'd filed into the Olympic Stadium infield.

Bjork herself shimmered as well, with bluish-purple glittery eye shadow across her lids. Her dark hair dangled in tiny twists that framed her pixieish, freckled face.

Earlier in the evening, the disc jockey Tiesto from Amsterdam played about two hours of nonstop dance music as the world's athletes took their first steps onto the world's biggest stage. It was the first time a DJ has had such a role at the games.

Standing on a platform beneath the unlit Olympic cauldron and dressed in a heather gray T-shirt and baggy, faded jeans, Tiesto bobbed his head to the beat with a set of oversized headphones covering his ears. He spun a mix of instrumental tunes that ranged from hypnotic to pulsating, culminating with throbbing house beats when the Greek team entered at the end of the procession.

It was a party atmosphere, with many athletes dancing their way into the stadium and rushing toward the video cameras spread around the track.

Among the international dignitaries cheering them on from the VIP section were British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Queen Sofia of Spain, and Prince Frederik of Denmark and his new bride, Australian-born Princess Mary.

HappyHappy Well done

Just watched the rebroadcast. Very nicely done! I have never enjoyed the walk of nations as much i did today hehe.

Flight 643 for Peru I also noticed the Canadian dude moving his head to the beat .. that was cool!

Can't believe they said he was a popular Greek DJ and "supposely won best the best dj award two years in a row" ..then he goes .. "didn't know they had such an award" and the other guy laughs making fun of it..

Did anyone else notice that the greeks came on RIGHT at the top of the build up for Adagio For Strings and then got brutally killed by the last track? .. I was like NOOOOOOOOOOO!!

..
The athletes' parade also featured something unprecedented: It was the first to have a live disc jockey as Tiesto, a Greek deejay, mixed throbbing techno tunes to pump up the flag-waving and give the parade a 21st-century aura

Not a huge Tiesto (just a small one) but congrats in all respect to the guy for this new venture and accomplishment of his. Looks like he had lots of fun and the fans enjoyed it. Heads up the Olympic commitee that thought of the change.

Are there anymore vids, links that work?
