or just EDM in general, the music you love, what does it inspire you to do in life? paint? draw? act? produce music? DJ? do volunteer work?

Trance makes me....be myself....Its the easiest way to explain it.
Trance is like a guardian Angel. Its picks you up when your upset and takes your mind places you've never been before, you can always rely on it to make you feel better. It makes life seem simple in its complexity and just makes you want to go out there and experience it with Trance by your side...
I think some people reading this will know exactly what im on about and be smiling now.

Prove you wrong? hah
you are too stubborn to prove your wrong, even if you realised that you are wrong, you would not admit it anyway..so, you had better chill out and be proud of yourself being always right no matter what

I know exactly what you're on about- I reckon trance is for special people only with the good hearts

Now you're assuming things. Why do you think I'm still arguing? Because you can't prove me wrong, you haven't even tried to.

Posted by Jake Conlon on Feb-20-2005 23:09:

why dont you both just drop it?

To prove you wrong that trance is a good music? If you you dont like trance, you never will( possibly your matter of principle), so by saying that trance is a decent music won't prove you wrong. There is no point strating it because it will bring lots of arguments between us, and I dont like arguing.
Just stick to the stuff you like and we will stick to the music we like. Reckon thats fair enough.

Prove to me that the trance of today isn't simple, isn't easy to write and hasn't been redone over and over and over just to squeeze some cash out of a popular idea, and I might listen to you.

Posted by RickyM on Feb-20-2005 23:25:

What makes techno or progressive or whatever you are into now any harder to write than Trance?

Posted by mr.anderson on Feb-20-2005 23:30:

in simple terms - "percussion and a beat" = hard techno - not a rocking science is it, and tribal is just depressing!...but as I said let's stick to what we like and not bash it.

Technically it's not harder to write (write... it's mostly percussion anyway), but don't you think that repetitive music such as techno is much more innovative than trance nowadays?

nooooooooooooooo.

i dont mind techno, but even i admit it sounds samey samey but thats the whole point your meant to dance to it.

Posted by Jake Conlon on Feb-20-2005 23:35:

i like dirty breaks, the stuff that sounds like drum and bass but is at breakbeat speeds

Posted by mr.anderson on Feb-20-2005 23:50:

In simple terms - "a consistent monotonous fast tempo of percussions and a beat- no paticular melody, a pure pile of sounds" = hard/dark techno - not a rocking science is it,
Tribal is just too chilled and depressing!... I listen to teckno, I listen to progressive, I listen to house, but trance has always been and will be my favourite genre, because it reflects my attitude and personality, but as I said let's stick to what we like and not bash it, that would be clever and now would it not be.

Posted by Ory on Feb-20-2005 23:57:

Give me some good, recent trance tracks. I'll give it a chance.

Posted by mr.anderson on Feb-21-2005 00:05:

Robert Nickson - Spiral ( not a very recent one but )

Armin Van Buren vs. M.I.K.E. Pres. Electric Movement - Pound ( original mix ),

dont even know why I am gviving you examples as to be honest, I dont care whether you will give it a chance or not, I am not here to make you or force you like what you hate. It's up to you at the end of the day.
