I'm being lazy and only reading the last page, so i dunno if this has been suggested, but, for a good forearm workout, take a metal bar or whats left of a strong broomstick, get some thick string and tie a bunch of weights together. Hold the bar out in front of you and 'reel' the weights up.. then back down, slow

anyone wanting to work out forearms....this is the way to do it

EDIT: i will never do it, cuz im a wuss and my forearms are just fine thankyouverymuch

Posted by nrjizer on Feb-17-2005 07:19:

Eh, I find that the forearms get plenty of workout with everything else (if you're using free weights that is).

Oh, playing too many FPS games will do that too.

You're the man swamper. I followed your advice, wrapped my balls in steel cable, connected it to a broomstick, and I've been lifting like crazy. What can I say but:

forearm curls w/ a bar (start and finish positions)

I started doing a variation of these, well, same motion, using an E-Z bar and preacher bench. I throw on 15lbs on each side, not much weight, but man does it burn. Three sets of fifteen and my forearms are toast. I've never liked working forearms, but I throw this in as an extra bicep exercise on my back/bi days.

It's been a while since I've hit the gym, blame mid-terms, and a lack of funds for that Personally, I loathe doing cardio - I just can't run on a threadmill for more then a minute without getting bored. That and the fact that I smoke really doesn't help either

How long do most of everyone's work-outs last? I try and keep my routine nice and quick, short breaks in between sets - usually done in about an hour or so. My days usually go chest/tri's, back/bi's, shoulders/bi's or tri's - I don't do legs, should start though. Like cardio, I'm not a fan of doing leg's - I've relied on hockey for calf and quad exercise.

I'll post up my rountine later, could use some input on changing things up.

Same applies to you

I used to do this excercise alot

but hten i realised.. why not kill 2 birds with one stone and do the full range in motion and basically create a full reverse curl

This works your forarm much better since you get the final wrist curl at the top (end of the curl) which directly targets teh forarm. You also work your bicep intensly as well, a similar shock to the hammer curl.

Posted by Floorfiller on Feb-17-2005 17:32:

thanks for putting the smack down neo

we used to do that for baseball training back in high school. i guess it depends on the length of rope you use but after about two or three your forearms will be on fire.
