People have a tendency of confusing "best" with "personal favorite."

well for one thing i don't think any of those people have artist albums which was listed as a requirement in the first post (other than marco v)

Posted by tribu on Feb-22-2005 05:25:

That requirement might get thrown out, though Ill see once the final counts are in. Many of electronic's music greatest artists released singles but not albums. Perhaps, an artist alubm or a minimum of seven (7) singles would be a better requirement?

Posted by Peter K on Feb-22-2005 05:38:

Nick Bracegirdle (Chicane, Disco Citizens,Rebel Transcanner)
Steve Helstrip (The Thrillseekers, Rapid Eye, En Motion, Hydra, Insigma)

Posted by Lumps on Feb-22-2005 12:33:

I'm voting Sasha.

And no I don't give a shit if a lot of his stuff was co-produced.

Honorable props to BT too.

When I see an artist as having an almost flawless producing record and being talented in everything from producing tunes to remixing them and putting on a decent live show then I consider them elligable for the list hence I will nominate the person

You forget to take the contribution to electronic music in general the artists has made over the years into consideration. Compared to someone like Brain Eno or Richard D. James, people like Nu NRG or Lange are easily reduced to dwarves.

Who, at this moment, does not have enough nominations to move to next round

I'm sorry but just because everyone and their mother doesn't know about them and therefore not as many people were influenced by him doesn't mean I really give a shit as far as not nominating him goes.

I also am not going to go through interviews to see exactly who was influenced by whom because 1.I don't have the interest and more importantly 2.The fact that he has or hasn't influenced producers has no bearing on me nominating someone. For all I know someone non-electronica related could have influenced other peoples music, it doesn't mean that now all of a sudden he should be nominated.

Posted by Floorfiller on Feb-23-2005 15:20:

i think Aphex Twin needs to be at least an option in the competition...i think he'll do quite well...so he has my vote...

So much for objectivity.

Being nominated for Best EDM producers, I guess.
Although I like DuMonde a whole lot, I think they don't belong in that list either. You cannot compare them to people who are responsible for milestones in EDM history like Jean Michel Jarre, Liebing, Kraftwerk or The Prodigy....

I think people confuse 'best producer' with their 'favourite producer'.

The chemical brothers
Moby
Sasha
Prodigy

Probebly one of those

Are u talking about B.T., or his hairstylist?

Which version is the "Live Version"? Cause I've heard a couple and there's barely any resemblance to Xpander.

That being said: I LOOOOOOOOOVE Little Bullet...but Xpander is way above it.

A lot of people like to bash Sasha and say that he gets Charlie May to do all the work for him, or JXL. Especially on Airdrawndagger. What surprises me though, is when I listen to solo productions by either JXL or Charlie May, their works aren't even close to that of what they did with Sasha.
