His tires were messed up, they didn't grip that well

Good job by Kimmi, he kicked ass today

Yes, I was cracked every time they showed the Red Bull pit. Are they keeping all the Star Wars ads on their cars or was it only in Monaco?

And I have heard that qualifying is going to be done on Saturdays in one lap.

Star Wars was a one off sponsorship I think.
Cannes Film Festival was around the same time, movie had just opened, Monaco always a big celebrity event etc.....

Storm Troopers did rock though!!

And yeah, Quali is back to one session on Saturday, but will still be a one lapper.
I like it that way, the Sunday session was crap....

The Wookie cheering in the garage when Coulthard qualified did it for me I think it was just a one-off though.

Thank god for single-lap qualifying though, the fact that we couldn't watch the Sunday session made watching Saturdays completly pointless.

fitst time ive posted on this thread but a few points ill make

the storm troopers for the redbull team were class, watching the car camera as the cars entered the pits was pure class

And also i belive the new rule regarding tiers is wrong, maybee limit the number of sets allowed of each type (dry/wet/inter) by 2 or 3 sets, but not to 1 set per race and qualifying, look at the effect it had on alonso at monoco and for M schumacher when he had those puntchers... tiers loosing grip round monacco is a safty issue, and the rule should be scrapped.

Actually it goes to highlight the skill of some of the drivers. Just as setup ability differs from the good to the not so good drivers, so does tyre choice, and also how they then treat those tyres, the smoother driver who maybe races a little smarter can make their tyres last a lot longer than the driver that just throws their car around.
The whole excitement of the Williams/Alonso (followed by the train/Alonso) battle wouldn't have happened if not for that rule, the same was seen in Barcelona, tyres going off at the end of the race and causing late race battling.
In the old days (back in real racing like the 50, 60s and early 70s) they didn't change tyres except for damage (little pointless side note)

You could also say that the reduction of downforce limits is also a safety issue, which is totally and utterly wrong. I do see your point though, and it can be seen as a safety issue, and to be honest you may have a slight point, but at the end of the day the better driver and the driver who moderates their style will be able to handle it, maintain control, and ultimately the best driver will succeed (with some damn fine racing in between)

I must admit, I was skeptical at first, but I reckon the rule has definitely met its intention.

great lap by Heidfeld, well deserved pole position

i suspect he's low on fuel, though

Posted by fcuk on May-29-2005 03:37:

this will be quiet an interesting race and kudos to the old quali system back in play no more second chances for stuff ups.

Posted by noikeee on May-29-2005 14:15:

Damn, Kimi has always terrrible bad luck.. Button must be still shaking after seeing that one coming so close.. and Kimi probably got scared to death as well when the tyre seemed to go straight to his head

Tiago Monteiro breaked a record.. rookie with most consecutive finishes ever in F1 He also did a fine race, even tho we has penalized with a drive through the pits, he went back to win 10 seconds from Karthekyan in, like, 10 laps and overtake him

Alonso has now everything to become world champion..

yeah, it's going to be very very tough for Raikkonen to catch up now

Posted by Quantized on May-29-2005 20:24:

That was a decent race, shame for kimi at the end, he could have done with 10 points. Also bad luck for webber getting knocked out on the first corner - he prbably would have done well if he stayed in. I liked how coultard jumped up 8 places round the first corner - sucks he had to do a drive through penalty later tho.

Posted by Spad on May-30-2005 13:07:

Missed the race due to work Heidfeld looks like he's well on the way to making a name for himself.

I wouldn't rule Kimi out just yet, still plenty to play for if they can get the reliability down.

The Renault is anything special this season in comparison to the way the Mclaren is going, fair enough it has the best start but the rest needs work.

And thanks for the welcome

shut up. its post like that and ur previous one which make alot of the ta girls feel unwelcome and leave. show some decent respect and apologise.

Posted by noikeee on Jun-11-2005 22:39:

Everything looks set for Schumacher's first win this season. I don't believe BAR will hold on to the advantage for long, unless they have really improved suddenly from one race to another. On the other hand, that's quite an improvement from Ferrari as well. The Renaults are right there waiting for some mistake so i'm quite curious how this is gonna turn out.

Something like this, in chances of winning:

MS - 35%
Alonso - 20%
Button - 15%
Fisichella - 10%
all the others - 20%

Oh, and the hell is up with the Williams, most inconsistent team ever. Are they gonna make 4 pitstops or what?

No, its probaly people like you with no sense of humour who make them leave. If she was so offended by what i said decided never to return, the girl has some serious issues.

However, i have a small idea thats not whats going to happen.
