why are people worried about them changing the venue! this is pvd not avb! he can hold his own, and so can his crowd, and the weather's not going to be worse than last year's menacing downpour (unless it's as gross as nyc was this past weekend)

I saw this online a few months back..checked it out at BestBuy and frankly never been able to take many videos and pics of gigs and events coz I simply hate the fact that I have to carry a handbag or something for a decent video cam, I like to be handsfree...hmm saw this, checked out the pic quality...was good enuff for me and looks sick!!... and the fact that it just folds into almost as small as a phone and straight into my pocket was IT for me, had to buy it.

And hey, I never had any bad experiences with a Sony. So...

Well fold up into your pocket yes, but quite honestly, isnt it a bit large? like seriously it feels like those old nokia phones that are like bricks. i palmed it at b&h photo and it just didn't cut it for me. i'd probably drop that loot into a t7. i think that's my next electronic buy after my sony amp. the only downside to sony's superb builds is their proprietory sony memorystick duo + many more can cost you arms, legs, and children and for what? to take pictARz!

Casio Exilim is comparable in size and picture quality not to mention functionality and mode settings and of course the always cheap secure digital cards. you'll get a 2GB for the price of a 1GB Memory Stick.

Yes, true in a way..and thats the reason I bougt it. the video is pretty good actually and 5.1megapix is not bad at all....

Well the mic is pretty crisp and it has 2 of em' for stereo...but I guess the reall test would be in a club, as most of the video cams I have seen have the audio jarring all the time...suxx really!

most mikes don't record well when sound is +90db. you'd need a bigger mike to accurately record the sound waves without distortion. this is why small devices usually can't.

4 days....

Well, as far as the memory stick goes, Sandisk makes them now too and if you buy those they cost you bout $85 for a gig. This is another reason that I bough this, I already have a 1gig Memory Stick Duo in my phone... + the one Gig I just bought for this cam, so that 2 gig's on the go...if I need extra I could always pop one out from the phone into the cam.

Anyways: some in depth review on this, 5 page review with some sample pictures and video's for anyone interested

Will putting a small piece of foam on the mic help filter the excess sound?? will give it a try.....

You damn right....4 days!

it might, but then again it may just drown out certain frequencies depending on the size of the foam. so it may end up distorting it more. =(

It is supposed to rain all weekend. I would bet that if it is raining pretty good before the event that they will move it inside.

Last year it poured and we all went to Spirit for the after party and it kicked ass. I hope it rains honestly. I rather dance in the rain, instead of that god awefull heat. It doesn't have to pour(sp?) but a litle drizzle wouldn't be half bad.

Oh and I doubt they will move it inside. Last year it was raining soo hard most of us were dancing in puddles higher than our ankles. I doubt they will move the party inside.

Just my 2 cents

Oh and my Canon S500 kicks ass click click

So doors open at 4:30 and PvD doesn't come on till 6. They have a dj(s) spinning before him?
