Yea, that is my favorite tune of the moment. I had been telling my buddies in the days before the show that I hoped he played that. I also yelled it down at Armin from the top level vip area near the end of the set. Soooooo glad he played it....sick stuff.

Just had to say that haha, will post my review later today.

Armin Review

First off, I dont think Ill ever go to another show that I know is going to be as packed like this one was. Impossible to dance, impossible to move, impossible to breathe at times. I couldnt even get out on the main dance floor it was so crammed. Not to mention that over half of everyone there was rolling to the extreme and it was so obvious. I mean granted theres people that can handle it and people that cant and act like complete idiots bouncing all over everything and everyone thats there. Not saying Im perfect but I think I am smart enough to know when to take a breather and sit down and when its ok to dance but still watch out not to trample on anyone. It really got old being groped on by people that I didnt know who assumed it was ok to touch me because they were rolling their asses off. I was looking forward to PVD but seeing as how crammed it was for Armin, I think I might pass. I like to dance when Im at a club. Not just stand around because theres no room to move.

Now as for Armin goes, he was good. Played a good set. Nothing that made me go WOW this is awesome!, like I had expected I might be with all the hype that was brought up. Some of it seemed kind of repetitive after awhile. Almost techno. But he played some good stuff. I thought it was awesome he started off with Ghost which kicked it off and he included Playmo towards the end to help finish it off. Not to mention he threw in G&D for the encore oh and its featuring MOLLY by the way, not spelled Mollie as mentioned above. Hes still not close to my favorites by any means but it was a good show. What I thought was funny was that when we got there even 15 min. before the club opened, since we didnt have presale and we wanted to make sure wed get in, the presale line was lined up all the way around the corner even at that early and the cash line had only about 5 people in front of me. We got in before most of the presale people did. I think paying the extra $10 was worth getting in and not having to stand in line for an hour. Kinda sad but ya thats just pretty much my review on Armin. He had good crowd interaction. Oh and my favorite part was when he dropped Without You Near. I love that track.

I liked RJs set. I thought he did a great job. And I think thats why I also was so tired by 3AM. I had been up that morning already at 6AM and had been walking all day. The only time I sat down Saturday was literally my ride to Chicago which takes about 4 hrs. So my feet were so damn tired and soar I was honestly ready to crash which usually Im ready to go until the morning. But I thought RJ really got the crowd going and even some of my friends were like Who is this guy hes good! And he threw down G&Ds Arcadia which is always a sure way to get me moving and smiling. I think I danced more actually to RJs set than Armins. Reading this over, Im realizing this review is kinda on the negative side so Im going to stop.

Positives:
Got to dance a little. Heard some good music. Had a good time. Got to hang out with a lot of people I hadnt seen in awhile and met some new friends as well.

Oh and I really liked the Halloween decorations at Vision. It looked awesome. I will post my pictures soon.

MIA

OK, so to answer Tony's question.....long story short, I had 2 friends in town that weren't very excited about hitting up a club, and since I hadn't seen them in a while, I decided to skip AvB, esp. since I slacked and didn't get a presale.

So, a few comments...

This does not suprise me at all! Did anyone else go to Above & Beyond? The levels were SO off. The problem is that I don't think the DJ or the sound guys realize what is going on down on the floor. My ears were ringing for 2 days after A&B. I bet some of the bad mixing/sound had something to do with this.

Sounds like this was a marginal show from the sound of the packed, newbie crowd and jacked levels. From the playlist, it looked great, but not as good as his last show (damn, I was on cloud 9 or better yet "Cloudwalking"...lol, ok, I am a dork) A few that would have made the night nearly worthwhile alone were:
Deepsky ft. Jes vs Yilman Altahan - Ghost vs Eighties (AvB bootleg)
Armin van Buuren ft. G & D - Zocalo
Gabriel & Dresden ft Molly - Tracking Treasure Down

Thought he might play Kuffdam & Plant - Summer Dream, but I guess he didn't (which makes me feel a little bit better for missing the show).

Well, don't know what else to say except that I am sorry that I missed some of the TAs (Tony/Christen/JennierRene, it will never happen again).

James

before or after you jumped the fence and went running into armin's arms bawling and screaming "i love you" causing him to trainwreck on more than one occasion? the sight of the bouncers trying to pry you off armin while you're kicking and screaming is a sight that i think will haunt me for awhile.

just curious what does everyone seem to mean by newb crowd? its vision...im not sure what the capacity is but its a lot... isnt it always mostly a newb crowd?
i also didnt see armin making funny faces at anyone... i dont know how manypeople were actually rolling... but i know it was way too hot in there in certain spots.. and lot of people were just suffering from that...
anyway
yea the crowd looked absolutely exhausted by the encore...(or even 3:30) as did armin.
so good job rj & erik

i just remember walking in and turning to my buddy saying "if the crowd is anything like tiesto... this is going to suck"... and there's your night...although armin was a hell of a lot better even on his off night...

I'm sure there are Vision "Regulars" , those who go all the time. Honestly, for me, Vision was my first real club experience. And I tend to go back there, rather than somewhere else.

I say Real experience, because the ones in Des Moines suck ass.

But there are always people who are new to the scene, and i think Vision is a great place to start out at.

probably a dumbass question, but what track is playing on this one? sounded great [even with the bass killing your microphone ].

btw, was that a Canon camera you used? looks like the same quality as mine and those awesome purple streaks from the lights too.

Sorry guys , about posting my review of the night. Been so busy that didn't even knew it was tuesday already. Alright here i go...
Armin again but out a lot of people to Vision. Which as expected. I thought the opening djs did a good job or almost too good of job since I was kinda feeling tired before Armin even came on. Well the first half of kinda left me disapointed. but the last half of his set was upto par with his last performance at Vision. Couple tracks i would love to get ID'd but don't know. Just wondering does Vision record there sets? Well, anyway will come to see Armin again when he is back. Gotta give the guy the credit for pull out alright from his off night.

Ah, this is killing me that I can't ID this track. It is so familiar but it is pretty distorted--will probably have to scroll through the last several ASOT shows to pinpoint it.

nice. I've got a 3.2mp A75 Powershot. a great camera [especially for video too], but unfortunately too large to bring in a club. i'd probably have a welt on my leg if i had it in my pocket and danced all night.

Armin did a good job on saturady , but it wasn't anything special. Vision is a definatelty too small club for a dj like him. I waited all night for "serenity" but he didn't play it

Enjoy the video !!! >>> http://s40.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=...YB2ZNHMQZ7GDYUG
