Evil1

the nba has constituted a new law for next year .
players cannot wear long legged thermals underneath their pants . ..

one of the few times i will object against the nba .
i am for their ban against long shorts and their suit requirement for not available players.

but this is insane .

why would they ban that? any particular reason?

it's a david stern thing . . i am as more confused as you are. maybe stern things he should stop it before it escalates to a higher proportion.

i haven't noticed this until now, but carmelo anthony is really having a monster season this year. wow. we can talk about kobe, james, ai, and wade and how their individual seasons are going well, but carmelo is basically carrying the nuggets on his back. seems kenyon martin continues to look lost on some nights, camby is in recovery mode , miller looks all right now and again, and the kobe stopper doesn't try to often on the other end. carmelo continues to put up some nice numbers every night. we don't see much of him, because the nuggets arent televised as much.

kudos to melo.

and non kudos to those sad blazers. where have they gone wrong ? looks like their blowup in 2000 is really starting to take effect now.

Dirk was clutch against Bowen tonight. Maybe he's finally ready for the playoffs.

Kapedan do you know how old Manu is? Is he like 25 or 26? or is he older?

He's older, for sure. Played some years in Italy (special mention to his performances in Virtus Bologna, for sure), since 1998, I think.

After watching March Madness I realized once again how horrible the shape of the NBA is in. I want to watch the passion, drive, and hussle that I see in college basketball at the NBA level but unfortunately no one cares about winning anymore, just the money.

Posted by Spartan on Apr-08-2006 19:21:

wait until the playoffs and then watch the Nets play. They'll be flying around like theres no tomorrow.

Posted by Kapedano on Apr-09-2006 01:59:

Yeah, Manu is older then 25, I think he is around 28 or 29.

edit: Manu

oh oh oh oh oh..playoffs are around the corner!!! shall we open a playoff thread or wait a bit closer to the date when it starts?

New Jersey is actually looking like a team that can actually dethrone detroit from the east throne . sorry eddie, but miami isn't going anywhere with their lineup . that trade to memphis for james posey and j dub white chocolate really took a big hit to their team, because they lost eddie jones , who was a defensive specialist on their team. posey was supposed to take over what eddie jones was doing, but nope he hasn't been getting the job done .

i can't judge sacramento right now . they are going to be the 8th seed for sure, but they look more like a 5th or 6th seed . i rather want the spurs (1st) play the lakers in the 1st round, rather than the kings . if the suns - kings duke it out in the first round, it could get interesting . they split the series 2-2 , although phoenix has won both times with the kings having artest . but i think this game will fare as the biggest probability of an upset . 7 over 2.

on the eastern side, i expect detroit, miami, jersey, and cleveland to win their games, by the way the brackets are dealt out right now . i want to say indiana has a strong chance for an upset over a top 4 seed, but they have really been inconsistent . they are currently paired with jersey, where i don't think they have a chance . however, if jersey stays hot, and jumps miami for the 2 spot, indiana-miami does look interesting . sorry eddie .

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Apr-12-2006 23:15:

one more note . if chicago and the bucks make the playoffs , all 5 east central teams will have a spot in the playoffs . . that's how sad the eastern division is right now, with the hawks, raptors, knicks, celtics, and 76ers are . at least the magic are trying to earn a spot

when you are that tall, and playing 82 basketball games in a season it takes a huge toll on your knees, especially for the older players. Keeping them warm keeps them loose.
