Agreed Jenn, enough of this off-topic silliness.

More IDs people!

For Sale - Buy Now

dropped in both rooms and for good reason

Pryda - Aftermath

the Jark Prongo and Da Hool tracks were a nice touch of classicness as well.

AHAHAHA ...ahem...nope...no stalking here

Let's just say I make it my business to appreciate the real and "positive/sincere in da vibe" party ppl rather than get sucked in by attention whores ppl.

Can anyone ID the track that Mark Oliver played during his closing set that he dedicated to the anniversary of John Lennon's assasination?
I quite liked that one.

I didn't feel that track. That and his last encore.

Well to be honest i was expecting more out of Marco V. From the way everyone kept going on about his awesome set back in July, i just didnt feel it saturday night and preferred the vibe in the Gallery. As usual, TA's were everywhere you looked both in the Guv and in the Gallery especially. Great to see everyone again, going to Toronto these days feels like going home almost lol.
B4k-oZ and iLiptikalOrbitZ .. you are welcome for the rides .. anytime!
Clublifexxx and London_TA .. happy birthday again .. hope you two had an amazing night.
My London crew .. hope the limo finally came back and got you guys lol!
I will have pics to post tonight.

Posted by b4k-oz on Dec-12-2005 14:43:

OMG London_TA I am so sorry I did not search you out to wish you a personal Happy Birthday. I feel so bad now
me thinks that next time your at the Gallery...me owes you a belated birthday drink

--------------------------------

Now...
Techno, Jungle, Goa, House, Trance...

IT'S ALL GOOD!!!

TA's it's time we show a certain level of maturity by learning to respect and appreciate our fellow EDM ppl that post at this site.
Now I'm not singling anyone here...I'm just stating something before it gets out of hand in a review thread which is suppoosed to be about Marco V, MO and the other rooms like the Gallery or Drink at the Guv.

No one is saying you aren't allowed to express your opinions or prefer Trance. I think I can safely say that most of us here hold Trance in a special spot.
But just remember that EDM is more of a movement and way of life and we should not be building walls around each other but learning to appreciate each other because unlike other genres of music...we are more willing to open up to a newer sound.

Now NO MORE TALK OF HATING "HOUSE" PEOPLE!!!!
and LET'S POST SOME MORE REVIEWS

The Roc Project - Never (Filterheadz Remix)

it's just Fiterheadz remix on Nyana it is just tiesto's remix mixed with filterheadz remix as a simple dj mix of two tracks, and thats why it is called there Tiesto vs. Fiterheads remix

I am not too good with reviews, so here are my 2 cents:

Amazing night, amazing set dropped by Marco V!

Now about his mixing:

I don't really understand people complaining about his mixing. What exactly do you mean by mixing? Perhaps you mean programming? I was there for the whole set and all his mixes were very good. He had very slight off beat once in a while and I am pretty sure that 99% of the crowd have not even noticed it. I mean it takes a sort of trained ear to hear those slight off beats, but he corrected them pretty quickly and nicely. It's nearly impossible to play a 4 hour set of music that goes on 138-140 bpm and not to have any of those slight off beats, I have not heard one dj who could actually do that, including Sasha, Carl Cox, Sander Kleinenberg and other beatmatching gods
Personally I think that Marco V's mixing and programming are one of the best out there, I only did not like how he fit in "Agnello And Ingrosso - Yeah" in his set, but other than that the set was very close to perfect and could be put in "dj'ing text books" if those existed
It's just a lot of times people hear some gino/euro dj in guv. saying "his mixing sucks" and then they repeat it so that they seem knowledgeable about the subject. I really hope this is not the case here

Awesome, awesome night!
Had a blast listening to Marco V lay down a really hard set, but still enough melodic overtones to make me happy It did get a bit loud after he dropped Automanual, even with my earplugs in.

Of course the usual complaints, too many old sketchy asians (like seriously, if you still love it at like 40-50 years of age, just listen to it at home with your friends), really unattractive dancers (there were hotties at Tieto in winter.. why don't they hire THEM?), stupids smoking in the crowd etc.

However, I had a blast, great night, and yeah.. also MO had a cool opening set (he dropped THE DRILL!!) but I heard afterwards he was ass.

Marcin!

The few surviving brain cells are finally coming out of the coma...so here goes a brief review...

the night started out with Tyler and I ending up at one sketchy bar (saturday just happened to be karaoke night...yay! ) as we had a bit of time to waste...thanks for the drinks!

got to guv somewhere around 11ish...almost no line, and we were in within minutes. met up with Craig and Scott, and chilled in the acid lounge for a little bit.

enjoyed the opening set by Mark...Marco V was great...and caught some of Deko Ze before heading out...

found the crowd to be very good...didn't experience pushing at all, all friendly ppl this time around...while it was somewhat full...didn't have any problems moving around whatsoever...and plenty of room to dance

great to run into some ppl I haven't seen in awhile (Pat, Alex, Lars, John)...and to see the usual crew...always a better night with familiar faces around...
Josh- good to see you made it out
Paula- good to hear you had a good time...had to make up for that night at Viva

Don't know the remix but thats a remake of PJ Harvey, she was an alternative rock chick from the 90's.

Alright, I've slept for a bit now and just wanted to add a few things.

Great to see everyone out, I was happy there were so many in the gallery before hand, it was fun to have a good crew in there even though the tunes sucked until Sydney Blu came on. Honestly, I don't mean to be hard on the guy, but Addy was mixing poorly and playing bad tracks. Hopefully next time he'll be more on target.

The main room was full, and I didn't really have the energy to deal with it right away, but made it in there for the end of Marco V's set and it sounded great while I was in there!

I just wanted to add that The Guvernment has done a wicked job at adding lots of different elements to their club. No matter what you are feeling there is something for you, Satuday night the tunes were awesome in the gallery, the drink and the main room, that is something not a lot of places could offer.

Petty and Carney, when did you guys leave?
Saw Carney and he said he was coming back, but i never saw you again.

Sorry I missed you.

Great to see everyone, if I don't see you again before christmas please be well and have a happy holidays.

Congrads to Nat and Graham, that is truely fantastic news!

There is no law which says a man cannot enjoy a sweet and refreshing vodka cooler drink (a.k.a. girly drink).
Most of them usually contain higher alcohol then regular beer.

Now dont get me wrong, I love my beer. And lets not get started on my crazy love with vodka(I wouldnt be polish if I didnt).

But I just "happen" to have a few girly drinks around the house which needed to be drank.

BUT. Back on topic of the thread.

Im ass is sore today

& Still having withdrawal symptoms from all that crazy HARD TRANCE Marco V dropped. I NEED MORE DAMMIT!!

Well, in recent weeks I've been considering retireing from the party scene. After Saturday I no longer think I'm ready for retirement. Easily one of my best nights at the Guv. Marco spun a solid set, the crowd was good but not too packed, Dekoze kicked some ass in the Gallery, and I partied with most of my fav TOTAs. How could I consider giving it all up after a night like that.... of course some argue you should always go out on top.

Max, that hour long search for Scott was one of the most crazy experiences of my life.
Fahad, dude, nice to share a floor with you.... oh, the ribs are just bruised
Paula, it was good to once again talk your ear off while dancing our asses off
Tyler, sorry the night started slow for you but I'm happy to know all worked out in the end
Nada, sorry for the completely unintentional elbow to the head.... sometimes I get a little careless with the arms
Pat, you're the coolest
Nat, it was a pleasure to meet you..... and congradulations
and to everyone whom I cannot recall at the moment.... Thank you all, a killer time was had and you all helped to create that!

by his mixing i mean everything from the transition from 1 song to the next. Beat matching, fading in/out, eqing.
Yea most people in there are too high or too drunk to hear it, but it definately makes a difference regarless if you conciously hear it or not. Maybe there was tech problems like people said i donno, but i do know he was pretty bad at some points, i was there from 3-5 and i was trashed and still picked it up. His trasitions also got faster and faster, some guy earlier posted that he likes that?? lol the only reason he was doing that is because it wasn't beatmatched properly, so he'd cut to the next song. This completely fucks with the flow and yea people might not "hear" it, but if affects you all none the less. I wouldn't be bitching like this if he was a little off and fixed it quick, everyone does that... he was enough off that it coudn't be fixed without sounding like shit so he'd cut over to the next song and cut his losses.

im sure theres shitloads of idiots, aka ginos lol, in there saying his mixing sucks..i hear it too. But i've seen marco v before and hes a lot better than that. I have no tolerence for this kinda stuff, im paying to see a world class dj, beatmatching is the most basic skill of djing and it's really not that hard. Im pretty sure there had to be some sort of prob up there, that or he was drunk/being distracted too much in the booth. Also if u had that set recorded, u'd really be able to notice it.. in a massive club like that the base just reverberates off everything and drowns out off beats,so ya, unless its off quite a bit, it is hard to hear.

btw im not a gino
