Well since it's so close to the day(counting 9 days) and most of us are worried about getting in cause of the age thing, and no one has posted any sets from the boys, I decided to upload a set. hmm I think it's a pretty solid set from DD so i thought it's a good one to start with.

it's obvious that one person's definition of looking sharp isn't necessarily the same as someone else's .. in all honesty i think things are going a little overboard with respect to the dresscode.. obviously they're not expecting ppl to come dressed in a tux.

as far as i know, This is London has always had (some) type of style code whether it be semi-formal or not. and as far as the age "restriction" goes, that too has been something around for some time even prior to the new management that's there today. In fact a lot of clubs/lounges especially ones along the King St. and Peter St. area cater to a much older clientel and 25+ is not uncommon at all. (a friend of mine is actually inviting me to Schmooze 25+ this coming Saturday .. gaah). But what Jeff aka. Floorwhore said was right, many of them are 21+ on Fridays. Again just like BOA this is all relative. "Soft rules" to plainly put it.

But anyhow, i'm just giving a perspective on things since there's a lot of people that find this all very shocking. I mean the same could be said about BOA when it first openned but now things all seem fine.

In the end it'll most likely be the discretion of the doorman whether it be better or worse. Hey you never know, if it's Quin and the old System guys there then everything'll be A-OK

Just because the age restriction thing has been going on for a while now, doesn't mean it's acceptable. What is the point of an age restriction? I see people of all ages doing stupid shit at clubs. Do you really think making a club 21+ is going to make any difference on the crowd at all?

How many 19-20 year olds do you know that go to these kind of events? 19-20 year olds are going to Tonic on a Friday night. If an 19-20 year old is going to a party like this, it probably means s/he really wants to go. Having an age restriction or a dress code does not make the crowd more "mature". Besides, WTF is a "mature" crowd when it comes to afterhours anyway? What's the difference between a "mature" crowd and a regular crowd?

If you want a "mature" crowd, go to work, not an afterhours club. Getting bojangled and listening to 8hrs of Deep Dish isn't exactly what I'd call "mature".

While I do agree with you Graham, on many of the points you make, you are forgetting one thing. You are far beyond your years when it comes to maturity and partying in general. Most 'kids' I know (and yes, you are still a kid you lucky prick), act very immature and would not fit the criteria of TIL for what they want in their clientele. It's the univesity crowd, thugged out, looking to pick up bitches attitude that spoils things for guys like you who party for the right reasons.

It's unfortunate, but I totally see why they are trying to push the 21+. It's to weed out the fucktards we all started to see showing up to System before it went under. And frankly, I think it's a good move. They will use the Guv to attract the younger crowd, and have TIL for the more mature clientele.

And Graham, even though it's annoying as fuck - just dress up a little more than you usually do, and I assure you, you will get in. I'd like to show up in my typical jeans, runners, and a long sleeve tee as well..... but dressing up IMO is a small sacrifice to make if you really want to see a dj on any given night.

I don't remember too many "fucktards" being at System during their final days. What I do remember though, was a bunch of newer, and younger partiers going, who were still getting used to the vibe of afterhours. Being young doesn't make you a fucktard. There are fucktards of all ages.

You have to give young people a chance. Do you think that I fit right in immediately when I started partying? Of course not. It took me a long time to fully get into it. If you don't give young people a chance to fit in, they never will. If you make it so that the only club that young people will go to is the Guv, they're never going to change.

P.S. I find it funny how everyone was complaining about 25+ because it affected them. Now that it's 21+, it's A-OK. It's essentially the same thing. The only difference is, this time you're not affected.
