You'd often see these people at the Drink and Skybar, or even Hotel...they want to listen to great house music, but want a classier venue...there's a huge market for that kind of place

I'm personally kind of impartial abou the the whole thing because I love going to the Guv, and at the same time I love getting dressed up and partying at the fancy venues

Thats exactly the way i feel. Good post!

Guys.. its stragith forward.. if you look like you want to flash your glowsticks around, this isnt your place.

p.s I miss MEOW

thats good and fine..just as we can choose to complain about inconsistancies in their stated policies. some people on here want things at TIL to change..and change doesn't happen by sitting back and accepting things b/c thats the way they are

some things are good at TIL. the floor (perfect smoothness), bathrooms, decor, coatcheck and lineups for drinks (next to none). i also like the dresscode. sets it apart from other clubs. the age issue, esp the switch from 21 to 23 is silly, and sure, they get it away with it, but do we really WANT them to? I'm 22, and i'd be furious if they suddenly said "sorry, its 23 now".

and to the montreal boys, dopey and whoever..you are a pompus asshole. just so you know.

Also, think for a minute that these DJs also take into consideration where they're playing and who they're playing in front of. I'm quite certain that they occasionally want to spin in front of a good-looking and stylish upscale crowd.

Actually, I had a conversation w/Danny Howells last year about playing at some new club venues in DC, which have 'style codes' in effect. He actually said he did not like the 'style/ see-and-be-seen crowd' that it attracts. He knows the laid back clubbers are the ones who let loose on the dance floor and bring the life of the party, and wants people to be comfortable and dance.

Well said, Danny boy!

i guess it goes both ways. i get tired of seeing sketched out crowds all the time, but i don't mind it on occasion (that reads kind of funny...).

i'm mostly someone who just goes for the music and my friends, but i like seeing a different crowd of girls half of the time.

seeing a crowd of girls that is going to go party until noon at the zone is rarely my thing.

I with you on that one. I like the ones that stay there until at least 3pm.

It sounds like you are more there to girl watch then anything else

Because I go to a club to meet girls as well as listen to music implicitly prioritizes my reasons?

I take care of myself a certain way, and like girls that take care of themselves a certain way, and also like to date girls that like the music that I do.

So, a variety of clubs provides different options in that aspect. Knowimsayin?
