Voting closed

Voting is closed since 13 minutes ATM.

The voting counts only with 50%, a group of "experts" will do the other 50%. Thios will happen during this week. Expect the final results by the end of the week.

Paul van Dyk, Tiesto, Westbam und Ricardo Villalobos confirmed that they will play at the "Siegessule" during the great finish of the Loveparade (plus 11 other so-called "DJ-Superstars" - not yet confirmed). Each one will play 20 minutes. (20 minutes for 11 DJ's make almost 4h).

For more information see the update page @ http://www.loveparade.net

The frontpage is in german only at the moment, no translation available, sorry.

Thanks to everyone who voted! Your support is highly appreciated!

Let`s hope we`ll make it, so that we can all dance in the streets of Berlin to the sounds of Trance music, coming from a tranceaddict float.

The Float Line Up for Loveparade 2006 !

We now know which floats were able to convince the Float Committee
and win the hearts of the broader electronic dance music community.
The 50% weighting of the online vote was added to the similarly-weighted
votes of the Float Committee, resulting in the line-up for 35 of the 40 floats
who will be seen, heard and experienced at the Loveparade on 15th July 2006.
Five trucks are reserved for our media partners.

We want to thank all those who have taken part. 400+ float applicants
deserve a huge thank you on our part !
Youve shown that the international electronic dance music scene is as vibrant,
creative and fresh as its ever been.
We are also grateful to you, the community, for your overwhelming interest
and eagerness to participate.
With your votes youve shown that your choice of music is anything but
a random and ambivalent one.
The results are clear: you are the connoisseurs, the party people, the music lovers !

Here you will find the list of club culture agents and organisations who
will be rocking the Street des 17. Juni in Berlin
and pumping up the madness at Loveparade 2006.

I do wonder how much influence the '50%' from the organisers had & how biased they may/may not have been

It doesn't surprise me at all that TA didn't get it, and it wouldn't surprise me if the votes were biased. Oh well, I wouldn't be surprised to see TA involved in the re-named San Francisco edition this year.

Posted by weymouth on May-12-2006 22:34:

That stinks. Personally I felt the whole registration and voting process was cumbersome and probably scared a lot of the TA voters from doing so.

Posted by sensorium on May-13-2006 01:53:

I just checked the list. I was expecting TA to be on it. I wonder what went wrong. The chosen floats didn't get that many votes. Stupid 50% influence.

Posted by Push2005 on May-13-2006 09:22:

How is this possible ? We're one of the biggest EDM-forums in the world and we didn't make it

Geez; this stinks and is totally biased.

Posted by BOOsTER on May-13-2006 09:26:

no TA float?

fuck them no LoveParade for me!

Posted by Trance Nutter on May-13-2006 09:32:

I've never even heard of Pulse Radio which is supposedly from Australia.

Shame we didn't make it, but at the end of the day 35 floats and over 400 entries chances were we were gonna miss out. Plenty of other people in our situation.

Posted by Sir. Lunchalot on May-13-2006 12:54:

It`s apity and we`re very disapointed. I also think that the organizer`s have left out a chance to bring more international clubbers to Berlin (like they wanted to with their "international" concept), because I think that a TA float would have brought a few more TA`s from overseas to the parade.

It`s sad, but anyways - it saves us a lot of work and gives us time for a big party weekend with 'love from above', the parade and then Lovebase (with a high quality trance lineup) - and TA features a floor there for sure.

Time for one last thing:

Thanks for your support!!

If you type trance into google what comes out first... Tranceaddict. It's quite sad they didn't offer this site a float by default.

16 year bump

...at the time I was incredibly disappointed TA wasn't chosen. I thought for sure we were in....votes/traffic wise we had it I'm sure of it to this day.

Happy that it went down today though - even if it's a fragment of what it was

"In the end there were too many people. Instead of the registered 25,000 people, according to estimates by the Berlin police, 200,000 people celebrated on the Strae des 17. Juni in the evening, according to organizer Dr. Moth even 300,000. Therefore, due to security concerns, the organizers were persuaded to end the Love Parade early, said a police spokeswoman on Sunday. Dem be Dr. Motte finally followed. The event is set to take place again next year."

{Berliner Morgenpost, translated: https://www.morgenpost.de/berlin/ar...Sie-wissen.html}

Well, if 25k people were expected and 200k showed up, I suppose it was a resounding success! Bit disappointing it was all down the street between the victory column and Brandenburger Tor, but apparently too many people were crowding around the first truck, so they weren't allowed around the victory column. And if it hadn't rained around 3pm, might have been shut down even earlier. 😂
