Usually has a monitor to monitor the visuals though so if there is an LCD monitor on stage, that's most likely what it is.

Dude, I know. I feel so bad about not going

No video monitor this time
You are correct he hates ableton , feels it doesn't run midi time code very well

He used 3 cdj1000's , no turntables and the new pioneer djm800 mixer

Wow, what a review thread. I haven't seen a thread this on topic, and this positive for a long time. I am SO bummed about missing this. Had family over for the weekend, so couldn't really go, but after reading all these reviews...well Tiesto shall not be missed again. Glad to hear everyone had such an amazing time.

Posted by vendetta999 on May-23-2006 13:36:

wow.

this was the most insane thing that ive ever witnessed. this wasnt a night out going to a club. this was a concert. a very very VERY good one.

there was nothing that i would have asked for that would have made things better.

track selection was awesome, sound was killer, the setup was unbelievable, his ripping apart of the closing track and 643 were acts that you wouldnt be able to understand unless you were actually there to see it live.

just when everyone in toronto was upset at him...he came back and blew everyone out of the water. (although i truly believe this show wouldnt have been as good this year if it wasnt as bad as it was last year). i think we should all consider this
the im-sorry-for-last-year party. lol

over all....i wouldnt expect to see anything that was as good of an all around party as this was for quite a while.

next stop for me: sensation white.

did anyone catch Carlo and/or the Vinyl Junkies upstairs?

Posted by AdReNaLiNa on May-23-2006 13:47:

I was reading on Tiesto's website that the TIC2 DVD has reached gold status here in Canada.. that's great news and I hope *crossing fingers* that maybe it'll be a step towards having a Tiesto in Concert here someday.
And if that doesn't happen, well then I just hope we won't have to wait another year before he comes back. Also, it would be soo great if he could two nights just like in Vancouver (both shows sold out).. the demand will certainly be there it looks like!

Posted by jon jon on May-23-2006 13:50:

^ I don't think it has to do w/ demand, surely our clubbing numbers are bigger than Vancouver. LOL

I'm still in awe of this party so I'll say a bit more. I went in skeptical, as Tiesto takes a far back seat to PVD in my eyes however wow.. unbelievable. He started off with a housey, progressive feel - tracks from ISOS 5, played a lot of new stuff (Helsinki - Scorchin') as well as Tiesto classics (Flight 643, Lethal Industry, Just Be <3..) The energy of the crowd was _unbelievable_ - I think the moment when the unmistakable note progression of Lethal Industry came in, coupled with whatever they did with the lighting that night and the crowd's enormous reaction to it is going to stick with me for quite some time. I've been at bigger parties where more recognizable tracks were played but wow, what a moment. The sound was amazing, the Docks looked hot and the crowd was packed, but polite.

I don't know if I've ever been to a party where the DJ has been able to keep a crowd in the palm of his hands for the entire night. Not to mention clearly having fun while doing it.

"#1 DJ in the world Tiesto" showed up on Sunday night and I'm quite happy with myself for deciding to go.

Posted by Scott553 on May-23-2006 16:39:

All I can say is wow. This was my first time seeing Tiesto live, and his set blew me away. Sick tracks and the mixing was flawless. The docks had an awesome setup to, and the staff was really good. Great night overall, 10/10.

Posted by wtom on May-23-2006 16:48:

My first time to the Docks, my first time to see Tiesto live. All thanks to my gf to shock the hell out of me when she told me the day before that she got tix!!!!!!!! (early four yrs anniversary present!)

We arrived with our group of friends around 10pm. Found a spot right against the chain curtain (in front of liberation lounge).

I didn't have my camera oh what a regret

I have not had this much fun, energy, and excitement ever at a party, nor have I stayed for the full duration (didn't leave til like 7:30am).

Holy fark that was awesome!!! Worth way more than a measly $70 for a ticket!!!

The energy of the whole place was enough to blow the roof off right when the banner came down... OMFG

Thank you to those who have posted photos and videos from the night!!!

The only other regret besides not having my camera, was that I ventured into liberation lounge and made the mistake of staying in there from about 4am til 5:15am ... I missed all the good shiet as well as his closing! DOH!
