DJ Three was good last night - the rooftop set from Labor Day weekend was better but he was still good. He played a lot harder as well - the opener for him was damn near ambient minimal, lol.
My head hurts from the $3 Pomagranate vodka sprite drinks but, other than that, it was a good night out.

What an awesome night last night... my ears are still ringing. Eddie Halliwell was off the hook - not only a great DJ, but a great performer. Good crowd too, everyone was eating that shit up, and the venue was not suffocatingly crowded for a change either.
I really hope that the Church keeps putting the DJ down on the dance floor in the back like they used to back in the day, it is sooo much better that way. There was a big group just hanging out with Eddie behind the decks. Last night reminded my why I used to like the Church so much.
One more random note - first time I've ever seen a DJ crowd surf before...

I am going to an "obscene t-shirt" party on Sat night so I'll see you all in May at JZ & Nic if not a Loft night beforehand.

| Originally posted by Isolator Beforehand would be cool, but when you really want to be there is afterwards... the Loft has agreed to let us do an afterhours at the location. They will not be serving alcohol, but I'll have plenty, believe me. We are kicking everyone out for 15 minutes @ 2am, then letting everyone back in. Dirk Technic will play an encore set as soon as the afterhours starts. |

paolo mojo fucking KILLED it last night
ID's
Pryda - Armed was huge in the club, as we all expected it would be.
Ito & Star - Sudoko Kid [getting play from jz/lee/little mike]
Drug Addiction - Let's Talk (Extract) [from the '07 howells EM]
aaaaaaaand onto dubfire...
well he gets on w/ one of the worst intro's i've ever heard and commences to just drop large song after large song with no regard to flow, he played some remix/re-edit of orbital - chime which was as if the producer thought, "hey i have this bassline/kick what old synth can i drop over it?"
suffice to say we weren't feeling DF at all, especially after the masterful set paolo had just dropped. After some douchebag hit me in the face with his glowsticks, splitting open my lip, we bounced.
note to douchebags who feel the need to glowstick at gigs, don't do it on the fucking walkway to the bathrooms where everyone is constantly moving.
i love how the clubs have a dresscode policy that is strickly enforced now, but glowsticks and "rave" attire is ok.
/end rant
Completely agreed that Mojo should have been the headliner, what I heard was fantastic and I would've loved to made it there for more than the 30 minutes I got to see. It might have actually been reasonably possible to move around on the dancefloor if that were the case too.
While I don't entirely share your sentiments about Dubfire (I thought the intro was actually pretty cool), I can't really say too much about the set in general, I didn't hear much of it. After Mojo, I went to go have a smoke on the roof. I tried to go back downstairs a couple times, but after ten minutes of constant shoving, and retarded douchebags EVERYWHERE, I resorted to the rooftop for the rest of the evening.
Standing outside listening to some crappy old school hip hop DJ was the place to be, unfortunately. Is it just me or does it seem like Vinyl and the Church are like this more often than not these days? That's why the Halliwell show on Thursday was such a nice change of pace.
