Yes, it is indeed too bad that I've spent my time listening to as many different types of music as I can and focus my efforts on what I've found to be the most enjoyable to me. Too bad.

Thanks for the laugh, Ory. You couldn't possibly be more clueless - which is all the more funny considering the aforementioned "try-hard elitest bubble."

You probably can't name 5 dubstep producers off the top of your head.

Am I the only one who listened to dubstep and thought it was fucking terrible?

No, which is what makes Ory's posts all the more fitting.

Point proven. There's something in dubstep for everyone (due to the influences coming from every single possible direction), and if you bothered to listen to it properly you'd realise that.

I don't know but it's quite annoying.

I did bother to listen to it properly, and there most definately wasn't something in it for me

Or I listened to it and I found it shit. End of.
Why don't you bother to listen to trance properly and appreciate it?

You can't find "it" shit when there is no "it". It's still in its experimental phase. The only thing holding it together is the sub-bass. Just more proof how clueless you are of what's going on.

Then why did you leave positive feedback on the dubstep mix I posted here a while back?

I'm sorry I wasn't more specific. In general, I don't particularly care for it. In the context of your mix it wasn't bad but, as in every genre, there is good and bad. I think trance is shit these days in general but I still find a trance track every now and again that I enjoy.

Because I've heard the ASOT sound, I know what it's like, and I don't care to hear it again.

But how can you just dismiss it after listening to it? Come on man.

I'm dissing a branch of trance that has been proven to be unimaginative and stagnant.
You're dissing an entire genre which is still in its experimental phase and has producers with roots in hip-hop, UK garage, drum'n'bass, techno and everything in between.

It comes down to the same thing. Experimental phase or not, some people listen to it and just don't like it, different strokes for different folks, whatever floats your boat, to each his own and all that. I can't claim to speak for anyone else, but should it ever evolve into anything I'd actually enjoy listening to, I'll listen to it, till then I'll stick with other genres.

I recommend the artist Burial for your dubstep needs.

Like...classical fro example...(!) especially the french impressionist school of Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel. Absolutely magical music! Vivaldi, Brahms, Tchaikovsky and Rimsky-Korsakov are excellent as well!Just a suggestion...
p.s. Dubstep is good if you are a teenager (at least in the mind).

I think the number one issue here is that you obviously think that the music you listen to is the most advanced electronic music in the world and none of us will ever understand anything about anything unless we all subscribe to your taste.
I will now bow before his majesty the messiah of EDM and accept that the music I derive pleasure from is nothing but complete and utter dogshit compared to the greatness that is experimental dubstep. I will thus wear the dunce cap in the corner for the remainder of the evening.

this thread is fucking funny.
People always trying to put this label and that label on a certain sound.Only 2 classifications should exist in music...Good and Bad.
