^^ pretty much gotta agree.

tracks 1, 3, 4, and 7 are really the only ones that i'll listen to more than once. carpe noctum being my fav. i just hope it gets some dope remixes. but with in the dark being the first single, i kinda doubt it.

Posted by keithos27 on Apr-19-2007 18:10:

the edit of D4L is God aweful... I mean REALLY!!! I don't mind the original that much but this edit just doesn't work for me at all...

Posted by jupiterone on Apr-19-2007 18:52:

I honestly enjoy the chill-out/ambient(esque) version of Everything. It's not bad.

Posted by wotyzoid on Apr-19-2007 20:11:

YEESSSS

I have finally heard the album, i have to say, i think that everyone bashing it before it came out just got shut up hardcore. Even though i dont appreciate tiesto as a dj i think everyone knows the damage he can lay off on a studio. great album .period.

carpe noctum, best track of the album imo.

Posted by jupiterone on Apr-19-2007 20:42:

As I do appreciate your opinion I for one hate the thing. Pretty much all of it except that "new" chill mix of everything, so I don't think people got shut hardcore at all.

And I don't know if you know this or not but Tiesto doesn't produce pretty much anything nowadays.

Posted by tubularbills on Apr-20-2007 22:20:

not really feeling a lot of the stuff on here. 10 seconds before sunrise i think is the best.

then again, it took me forever to really get into Just Be...there was originally only 2 tracks i liked from that one....but then the rest grew on me.

we'll see where this one goes.

I think it's a good album, i don't think he did bad on it. I really enjoy the song "Everything"

yeh dude i heard such rumors, but i dont think it has been proven yet, althought i do think its highly probable. well who ever made the album did a great job imo.

How much do you know about producing, exactly? Just because he has people that work with him doesn't mean he doesn't do anything.

Yeah, i also think this is bullshit. and that he makes the music himself, he just has an engineer who helps, in addition to co producers.. just like almost every single band in the world does too.

Exactly, and a lot of co-producers (BT, Geert Huinink, Noel Sanger) already stated Tiesto does know how to operate production equipment.

I thought "Sweet Things" was the best track on the album and even that could have been better. The chick on that track sounds retarded, but the song itself is good.

I thought the song was very original. I believe it was the best vocal on the album. Her accent made the tune very appealing. I enjoyed it.

Overall the album is a disappointment.

TIESTO IN CONCERT A MUST C!

Posted by redzone1 on Apr-30-2007 11:51:

has anyone noticed how loud the mastering on this album is ?
I think it's much too "bassy" and distorted.

Tisto @ Coachella & North American Tour Dates Announced

Taking to the main stage at Coachella '07 with a crowd of over 30,000 in the audience to close out Saturday's schedule following the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tisto played an epic set that encompassed only his productions. Thinking of the 'Elements of Life' show as more of a concert, the Holland born DJ knew it had to be something incredible, and that it was. Both pleasing his fans, and opening the door of new experience for the entire Coachella audience, Tisto was on point musically, and the stunning stage backdrop synched the audio event with the theme of the album. Large screens and LED curtains provided the visual aspect with captivating images of fire, water, air and earth, each essential element intertwined with the human form. At the end of the performance, the entire audience that reached far back onto the polo grounds, paid homage to Tisto, with hands in the air, chanting his name.

Since its release on Ultra Records on April 10th, Tisto's third artist album, 'Elements of Life', has been on the charts. Opening at #1 on Billboard's Electronic Album chart on week of release, it remains firmly in the same spot, and hit #71 for its debut on the Top 200, and is currently at #9 in the Top Independent Album category. In addition, Elements of Life also posted another huge success for dance music in Billboard, ranking at #8 for the most digital albums sold in the US. Charting at #1 on iTunes US for the dance album category, and #2 on iTunes Canada for largest selling album overall, this release has sold well over 15,000 in the first 2 weeks. The meteoric success of 'Elements of Life' is a first for Tisto's career, and the album has become one of the largest in 2007 for dance music!!

Coachella '07 was the first stop on the North American leg of this world wide tour for the album. Tisto is now scheduled to do the complete 'Elements of Life' concert for 19 dates in North America, with more dates to be added.

I didn't quite get the accent thing. Was she trying to sound Brittish? She is American. Love the track though, but it's nothing compared to "Everything". It's absolutely gorgeous.

As someone already said, it is a hit-or-miss, but the hits are refreshing and do the job. The record is definitely worthy of purchase at a discounted price, but I'd hate to have to explain to my friends why I own an album with atrocities such as "Dance4Life" and "He's A Pirate".

Also, is it a coincidence that the sound of "Bright Morningstar" reminds of some of BT's work on "This Binary Universe", considering he was involved in the making of this album?

Sorry, but this kind of invalidates your entire review. The track is absolute crap. This would also explain why my favorites are your least favorites, and vice versa. Either that, or we just have very different tastes.

Nice to see a review in a review thread either way.

Posted by miamitranceman on May-04-2007 02:39:

I don't like Carpe Noctum either.

Posted by chucho on Jun-02-2007 17:16:

i just listened to the album and all i have to say is: crap

a lot of rip offs

elements of life = adagio for strings
break my fall = junk
everything = aria - willow (tiesto remix)
carpe noctum = traffic

2/10

and just because ten seconds before sunrise it's the only rescueable

i think what he's getting at is the lack of originality. Pretty much rehashing of stuff he's done before.
