I didn't wanna write the word "dick", cause you know someone might read dick and get offended or start thinking about someone's dick, which isn't a pleasant thought... or maybe they're reading this stuff out loud at the office, and you can't say DICK... so you see why I didn't say dick and left three dots instead of dick?

I actually met my wife on msn chat!! 6 Years ago ..now we have a 2 year old kid..

Not many complaints on my end...but IMO you never get the real feel for the person until you interact for some time in the real world..

those were my 2 cents

FUCK could not agree more graham
+100000

sometimes guys are so fucking desperate they will do that to every single girl out on the net just to get a piece and an ugly girl becomes "hard to get" lol.

yup, online dating can feed into an attention seekers ego for sure.

Long story sweets. Be sure to ask next time we meet! Bottom line is, no matter how much you get to know someone online and over the phone, the person can completely do a 180 when the shit hits the fan.

doesn't just apply to online or phone people.

Posted by Spin Laden on Apr-26-2007 22:21:

good point. For all these fairly new romances that are only a few months old, you don't know what the other person's (or yours for that matter) character is when times get tough. That's when you know whether or not he or she is the one.

It's the exact opposite really. I used to be on a website called MMTO, whose main purpose it was to pick up. This is what I used it for originally, but I started to get really bored and annoyed with profile hunting (I later started using it just for the forums). I found most of the people on that site projected an image of what they wish they were, but in real life were usually really shy and nothing like what they made themselves seem to be. It is a lot easier to socialize and make yourself seem like a confident person online since a lot of people feel a lot less akward when communicating online.

Also, even if you do end up finding a girl who's intersting, I find the whole online courting thing to be a bit lame and something that I'm not really interested learning how to do. "Hi babie u look sexi, and ur so funny haha wanna go for dinner?"

As a male, this post really does make a lot of sense.

Now to get around that whole awkward introduction, and courting, an overhaul would be needed. Sites, from what I have seen, primarily match people by age, location, and picture profiles, but none of these things really tell you much about the person.

Are there sites out there that actually match you based on interests, motives, hobbies, or any of the other characteristics that make you a person?

lol @ lies. It depends man, if I hit up a situation where I'm not completely comfortable, it's awkward. TA events, events when I'm with a bunch of friends etc are different. (This is excluding vacations because usually I'm automatically comfortable enough). When things aren't like that then it's just awkward. I dunno.

LOL @ TA. A lot of people (some of us oldschoolers) on here know eachother really really well, others are just people we party with. Others are in between. TA is all over the place.

Posted by Yohan on Apr-26-2007 22:31:

lol. someone should start a poll: did you meet your significant other through TA

Posted by Spin Laden on Apr-26-2007 22:35:

if ever you see a totally new TA posting all sorts of pics in the pic thread, and with a pic of herself in her avatar, she's on the hunt
