This is a story about three people called Somebody, Everybody and Nobody.

There was a job too be done, and Everybody assumed that Somebody would do it. When time passed nobody did the job, and Everybody was angry that Somebody should have done the job. But Nobody said that he would do it after all.
After Nobody did the job, Somebody complained that Everybody should have helped.

Question

Hey does anybody know when the next competition is going to be? Oh by the way, I'm new to TA, but check out my songs at www.myspace.com/djashdrey

I think I can run the next one if the winner can not, he'll have to tell me which track to remix tho.
I have experience so I can do it again and maybe implement new features

Cheers

it will take time to organise it , even if we do it without prizes, since that won't really matter anyway. I just love hearing eachothers versions of one track! Just, a compo this year would be nice so we didn't "miss" a tradition this year

Posted by dJ-matts on May-20-2008 19:02:

i also want to participate but .... i cant dl the midi file

Posted by Mr Kre8 on May-20-2008 23:55:

I'm ready now

matts - the competition isn't running at the minute.

Posted by Eldritch on May-26-2008 06:20:

Hi. Sorry for not replying sooner. Time just flew by so fast. The competition should definately be soon.
Takkra, I'd be happy if you would run the competition if you really want to. But, can I help choose the song? And be one of the judges?

Posted by Mr Kre8 on May-27-2008 14:17:

Woop Woop!

Posted by djsphere on May-27-2008 14:29:

this should be fun

Posted by isoterra on Jun-06-2008 22:47:

i wouldn't mind entering another one of these some time

only thing that puts me off is that i have a pretty good wins:entries ratio and i'm not sure i want to half it

Posted by Spliph on Jun-06-2008 22:51:

takkra, wake up

Posted by Jay M on Jun-08-2008 14:24:

Sunlounger has recently remixed Halcyon

Hoo haw haw haw.

First of all sorry I couldn't reply any sooner, dentistry school is becoming really hard now and my patients just keep increasing in number theorywise i don't think i'm gonna make it this year..

Second, I never said, or intended to make it seem like, I would run the competition this year.
However much I would like to, I haven't got any clue what means are needed . So sorry guys, no good news from me. *raises flameshield*

Ive got some nice ideas that came to my mind;

Alice Deejay - Better off Alone

PPK - Resurrection

ATB - Till I Come

Carlos - The Silmarillia (wait.. didn't this got a 2007 remix)

DaHool - Meet her at the loveparade

R.O.O.S - Instant Moments

Ayla - Ayla (pt 1 & 2)

They well known anthems, very old as well, and you all know how well the tracks Ron van Beuken - Mary go Wild and SvD - The Riff are doing

If we can have a very good, modern remix of any of these songs, we might even have a chance for trance to get in the charts again!

heh.. that's cool, i was in the same position a few years ago too so just picked a track (after alot of deliberation) and handed the reins over to PDM. i would have offered to step up to the challenge to repay my dues.. but it appears the aforementioned is up for it again

Posted by Spliph on Jun-10-2008 18:51:

alright, the songs have been picked... let's choose our favorite and go from there?

i vote Ayla - ayla

p.s. are the parts even accessable for these?

Posted by Takkra on Jun-10-2008 20:06:

If im not mistaken the Original "Ayla" song was called; A woman from Stuttgart (called Ayla.) After that followed several remixes from 1980 which divided the track in several parts, 6 of them if im not mistaken. I could be very wrong though, its waaay before my time ..
But then again, Ayla part 1 and Ayla part 2 where the ones that became known worldwide.
I'm pretty sure parts one and two can be easily found on music websites, MIDI's however im not so sure, but the melody isn't that complicated.. we managed to do Yahel - Voyage without a MIDI as well iirc
