WOW fantastic night. my best night at Ruby Skye for sure. He played my request of Force of Gravity again! Ferry is a crowd pleaser. The crowd went absolutely nuts when Heaven Scent played ahhhh! i wish i got video of it. Ending the night with Out of the Blue was awesome as well. im still in awe!
WOW, what a great night! The energy in that room was insane. He had quite a few people there that stayed the whole night. More than last time he was at Ruby Skye if I remember correctly. That guy in the bunny suit was awesome. It must be SO hot in that suit though!
Some tracks that stood out in my mind:
Way Out West - Mindcircus (still can't believe he dropped that!
)
BT - Force of Gravity (Ferry's mix)
Bedrock - Heaven Scent
Aven - All I Want
System F - Out of the Blue
(I had the pleasure of hearing him spin that in Vegas a couple of days before New Year's at JET Nightclub as well. Needless to say I was going crazy.)
Great night, people. Had tons of fun. I wish I had gone to the dinner to meet up with some of you TAs. I still haven't really met anyone even though I've been on this board for a year now and have gone to numerous shows. I'm sure I'll see you guys soon with all the DJs coming here this summer.
amazing set! I enjoyed it much better than last time! I mean I'm pretty picky about the tracks and I think there were only like 2 I didn't care for. Glad I got to meet a lot of you!
Post the pictures, k!
oh yeah, Orbital - Halcyon (Dirtyhertz Remix)
He just finished it Thursday night and it's schwwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeet. There's a billion Halcyon remixes out there but this one is way up there as one of the best, IMO. Ferry loved it himself and asked for hit from Dirtyhertz (in which he took the opportunity to give him that plus some other of his remixes/tracks lol.)
Oh yeah and I much enjoyed the Dirtyhertz and Taj team. It was great watching them groove on stage with their big hair going crazy. :] You two look like brothers... The greatest cd-vinyl team ever!
Some great tracks you guys played. Almost like you went out of the standards of openers, hehe. You totally brought the energy on, I LOVED it.

Trust me ill be right there to share my thoughts with you.| quote: |

Andrieux, I LOVED your "doot doot dance"
wow what an amazing set from all three of you guys...there was this very progressive great that was uplifting towards the end of ferry's set...it was after junk but right before this vocal track.. I can't remember what time exactly but it was so damn nice... I wish I knew what it was...hopefully someone can post a tracklisting. Never heard it before. seemed brand new
Nice seeing everyone and I had an awesome night!

I had an amazing time Friday night! Taj and Dirty got the place hopping early on! The dance floor was packed and energetic which fed into Ferry's set seamlessly. Ferry continued to destroy the place for the next four hours. A bunch of my buddies from the south bay came out and they had a killer time.
I am pissed about a few things though. It seems that the Ruby Skye's crowd is getting worse and worse. I tried walking through the dance floor and one guy wanted to fight me because I walked in front of him and his GF. He said "dont ever walk in front of me again" while getting in my face...LOL... wtf....
I also got pick pocketed later on in the evening. I found out the next day that one of my buddies caught a guy grabbing at his back pocket in the crowd. Another one of my friends found his wallet laying on the stage with no money in it.
With people being aggro, that happens everywhere and hasn't changed. It's just worse on the busier and especially if the DJ brings in a mainstream crowd (who tend to be the aggro ones). If this event would have been on a Sunday night or any night that weeds out most mainstreamers, sure you wouldn't have run into that issue. It's why the non-Friday and non-Saturday Spundae events always have an amazing vibe. Markus will on Tuesday, and I am sure Armin will on July 15th.
In the end, it amazes me how many people I know who gets someone in their face as they are trying to walk through a crowd. I'm fat and I have NEVER had this happen to me. I think why is that as I'm going through the crowd I just keep yelling out "EXCUSE ME!.....THANK YOU!! Excuse, thanks bro. Sorry, I have big feet." and people are receptive to it. Can say this helps when people come past me through the crowd. If they barge through as if you weren't there that pisses me off. But just say excuse me or pardon me, and I am like no problem!
I cannot go Tuesday for Markus
Armin not looking so good.

I was actually "expecting" to get pick-pocketed as well before the night even started. I think anytime you go to a large venue like that with a crowd of people you can expect something like that to happen. Overall I had a great time, but am sorry to hear something like that happened.
On another note, I was kind of hoping Ferry would play "Fire".

taj vs dirtyhertz = one of the best opening trance sets i've heard in a while! i got a kick out of hearing random comments in the crowd like one dude who was obviously very new to the music exclaiming to his friend 'this shit is fuckin nuts!' during the riff of becoming insane, and one guy grabbing his buddy by the shoulder saying with the this serious look 'dude. we need to grow our hair out!' then both nodding and grinning. i've always said it's fine for openers to bang out a high 130s set as long as the progression builds properly and winds down seemlessly the last 20-30 min... and taj and dirty friday night exemplified how that works! very nice use of deep flexion btw too
as far as ferry's set, well if anyone was expecting to be blindsided with something entirely different from his normal style, you shouldn't hold your breath. every time he comes to sf, like 90% of the crowd shows up to hear everything ferry, so that's what he delivers. people were requesting old school tracks left and right and he played every one of them as far as i can tell. one guy up front handed me his treo to give to ferry and normally i wouldn't, but it said 'force of gravity' so i did
. i don't listen to ferry religiously like i used to and i find it makes his spundae parties that much more exciting for me. giant bunny man roaming the crowd was also a plus
. i don't even remember most of the night, i just remember i enjoyed every second of it
oh so that was you lex400sc. im the dude who gave you the phone LOL. thanks for hookin it up though. i like requesting that song cuz that track is not released.

I have to say, I completely enjoyed Ferry's set...
Glad he played Force of Gravity, great song... good request y2yen!
maybe it's just me, but I thought that when Ferry played MindCircus while the "Last Call" visual was counting down, it felt like the song really flowed with it... haha
Does anyone know the Breakfast track (not Sunlight) that Ferry played? Skwallie and I were talking it over, and we came to the conclusion it could have been Breakfast's new song After Midnight... anyone know if it was?
thanx for the positive comment on my Halcyon remix guys. i might post a part on tranceaddict for all you trance frrrrrreeeeeaaaaaakkkkkkkksssssssss.......
