I'd rather go see a RJT, UWM, Clovis lineup over DT any day. I've seem him 3 times in NYC and I was impressed only one night with his selection and mixing. (I was also shitfaced-drunk too so that probably had a little more to do with it)

Can you assholes come to New York and play?

i didnt hear any trainwrecks. a trainwreck used to be when beats completely clashed and sounds like crap. but to overly anal robotic beatmatching machines known as wannabe djs, a trainwreck means when the beats are slightly off for a moment and isn't perfect. normal clubgoers (human beings) dancing their ass off don't completely stop and walk off when they happen to hear beats not aligned scientifically perfect. other dj's and trainspotters and various other douches from the internet in the crowd will ignore the fact people are having a good time and instead harp on a non perfect beatmatched transition, shake their heads and be snobs. normal club goers don't do that, they're just having a good time. an amateur dj not respecting a pro dj because of not perfect beatmatching because they are holding them to a higher minimum standard of technical skills is silly when they cant entertain a crowd nearly as well. too much focus on something that doesn't need nearly as much attention as it does. ive said this before many times, peeps need to take off their judgement hats and put on their party hats. the best state of mind for appreciating what is good music is when you are the least judgemental.

DT has always received tons of respect for his ability to work a floor. now suddenly because of his gay ass crappy personality in this letter, the focus shifts to anything that can be pointed out as bad in his set. amazing. wait, no is not, this is tranceaddict.

By your own definition there are several trainwrecks in that Tenaglia set - which leads me to wonder, have you even listened to it, or are you just talking out of your arse?

If anyone knew anything, they would know that there are only like 5 recorded danny tenaglia sets. hes never liked for his sets to be recorded, and thats his principle.
the guy has had amazing gigs in which he DJs for hours upon hours. Hes a really down to earth guy. He goes down to talk with the crowd after his shows, or to dance. I met him at Nocturnal once where he ordered a drink at the bar and i just happened to be next to him. Very cool guy, lots of respect.
Wht the club did was BS, and he has every right to be pissed.

I'm glad DT has fans. One of my good friends is a big DT fan. I just think he's one of the worst DJ's I've ever heard. Like I said before, I've seen him three times (just remembered a gig in Ibiza), once I left early, once I spent the entire time in another room and in Ibiza I just got annoyed with this tracks and again spent my time in another room.

As I said in the post just above yours, he is a good DJ and has played legendary nights, surprise, some people aren't much into his sets, is that a crime? Is everyone on every forum supposed to bow before Tenaglia no matter how much adolescent banter he spews and how much he cries over someone recording a tiny part of one of his sets in low quality? I've paid money to see DT, I'm sure I have a right to say whether I liked him or not.

Alot of these folks put alot, alot of effort into their mixes, into scouring the internet and other sources to find fresh, interesting music (as opposed to sitting on 20 promo lists till the next radioshow deadline), and they have recieved alot of support from people here on TA, rightly so.

What exactly is your definition of a "wannabe DJ"? People who care about their craft and are bent on perfection? Does that mean anyone who tries at their job is a "wannabe (insert job here)"?

Also how are we all amateurs if we are getting paid to do it? There are obviously people out there who think we're doing something right.

I wasn't specifically aiming that at you, I meant evereyone in this thread in general. Also for the record, I havn't touched Ableton in months and I've been using CDJs at gigs and at home since I bought them almost 2 years ago...

There are also the people who aren't familiar with anything more than his name, and are just reacting to these rants of his based on general expectations of DJs or any professionals.

edit // Stroke, sorry man I just don't dig him. I don't understand the hype behind him. The only thing I liked from him was his Back 2 Basics cd, that is an AWESOME compilation. But he's never impressed me live. Ever.
