Well from about a week + ago cl and dans myspace indicated their names had been cleared of any wrong doing, so I assumed they would be included in this years vote (excluding cheated results) but i just got the djmag newsletter and the second item is
"Named, shamed and disqualified!
In an unprecedented move, whos been booted out of our Top 100 DJs poll? More >>"
so for 'clearing' their name of wrong doing they're doing a good job of making them look stupid ..

When a sports team gets caught cheating, they are not reprimanded just enough to make it seem like they never cheated - they get disqualified out of the competition. I really don't know why you'd think DJ Mag would just subtract the cheated votes, and let the cheaters go on their merry way. Now who looks stupid? |
From his earlier posts in this thread, doesn't seem he's putting too much emphasis on the manager's involvement in this. I think it was him who was insisting that CL and DJ Dan knew they were cheating.
In any case, 3rd party or not 3rd party, their manager represents them, so anything that the manager does is automatically considered to be done on their behalf. An example that I can bring up is that if an employee of UPS gets drunk and runs over a child while making deliveries, UPS gets sued, not the employee because the employee represents UPS. In this case, the manager is the employee, and CL/DJ Dan is the UPS.
Edit: and the last reason that assuming that the DJs won't be disqualified is silly is that the DJs are under no obligation to fire the manager for the wrong doing (it's their choice), and DJMag can't disqualify the manager from the DJ Rankings (duh), so really, the ONLY punishing action DJMag could have done is disqualify the DJs from the poll. Anything less, and it would have made the poll even more of a joke than it already is - DJMag would be pretty much making the statement, "hey, we don't care if you cheat, we'll just subtract the cheating votes, and you won't even get a slap on the wrist. We're really laidback like that."
