Remember:

-only the bigger parties are already known
-parties during the week are mostly held in the clubs
-the smaller parties (at other locations than the clubs) are being organized later on, so these infos will come in june

That's a very generous offer Dawn I will be with one friend, and we will be meeting MDMA at Lubeck airport around early evening.

MDMA, the offer's open to you if Dawn is happy to let you kip a few hours at his. I am keen to look around Hamburg anyway as I've only ever been abroad once and that was 5 years ago, so I'd like to have a look around anything interesting the Thursday morning. There are 2 of us, so if Dawn has room for one person, you're the best candidate

We'll need to get a mid-day/afternoon coach though, to give you time to get some sleep and us time to visit some sights etc.

Dawn, do you live far from the centre of Hamburg or the coach station?

I was also wondering what's the deal with mobile (aka 'cell') phones. Would a British phone work in Germany? Would the reception be just the same? Are vodafone/BT cellnet top up cards available in Germany or are they only British companies?

evil, if I get you correctly you would rather not sleep/chill and instead take a tour through hamburg?
I could also have three people here, but I don't have a lot of room.

from Devil Mania it's 20 minutes by car to my house. It's also about 20 minutes to the bus station with car or train. The busses leave every 2 hours, so there shouldn't be any problems meeting up with MDMA if you decide to stay awake in Hamburg.

Thanks a lot Alex, Are u sure u don't want a bit of rest? Cos if u have left at the UK at 6 ish (after your long Journey from Newcastle), and won't have any sleep until the following afternoon, some might say that you'd be a bit knackered!

And also many thanks to DJ Dawn for his generosity!!!

As for Mobile Phones, all phones on UK networks work in EUrope, but you have to inform your mobile operator, that u are giong abroad, and you wnat them to activate 'roaming' This will allow your phone to be readuy to recieve the foreign network. They will most likely also ask you to put a PIN on your voicemail too.

Foreign countries don't sell our top-up cards, so bring your own, or top up loads beforehand. Its quite expensive calling abroad, so stick to texting!

I CAN'T WAIT!!

To be honest I'm not too fussed either way, neither is my mate.

If it finishes at 5am on the dot then I doubt there'll be much to do in Hamburg at that time, but I'd imagine most the attractions etc would open around 9am, and we could probably find some coffee shop or a pub somewhere to kill an hour or so. Would it be ok if we left our bags at your place overnight?

it might even finish a bit earlier, as I said I haven't been till the end in ages...
so maybe we could just all go to my place and chill/shower/sleep or whatever. As long as you don't mind sharing a double bed with your mate and one of you sleeping on the floor. As I said, there's not much room.

MDMA, our journey from Newcastle won't be long, Go airways fly for 15 each way. (It'll probably cost us 20 each way though).

However, I am actually tempted to pay virtually the same and get a coach to London, cos at least on a long coach journey you can sleep, and the last plane to London arrives at 9pm Wednesday night, leaving 9 hours to kill. I'm sure I could get a coach to arrive in the early hours of the morning, which is much more convenient and sleepable.

Thanks mate, if it's ok with you I wouldn't say no!

I'd like to have a little look around Hamburg on the Wednesday and maybe a little on the Thursday. Do you recommend anywhere interesting to visit?

Smoking ..umm..something

Where do you think would be the best place to party the weekend after Love Parade? Hamburg or Berlin?

I am looking for all night techno/trance events primarily.

Posted by djdawn on May-29-2002 05:40:

for techno (Chris Liebing/Sven Vth/Thomas Chrome Style) Berlin, for Trance/esp. Hard Trance Hamburg and it's surrounding. We can talk about all that in detail when you're here, unless you want to plan in advance...

Posted by evil_bastard on May-29-2002 10:51:

All I need to plan is accomodation. The days around the 13th are gone, and surrounding days are running out. If we are going by coach (which is likely) we'll need to book that too, but that is less urgent, and I suppose we could always get an open return ticket.

I don't expect there will be such a surge for accomodation for the following week, but I think it will probably all get booked up before we head off.

My flight to London from Hamburg is on the 23rd, a Tuesday I think.

I am almost sure (95%) to go to The Love From Above but I wont stay longer than 02:00hr (good sleep before LP)

Galaktika = 100%

Posted by PatMcGroin on May-30-2002 03:43:

i'm gonna stay all of love from above, all of lp, all of galaktika...i can sleep later when i'm dead

btw, i tried calling ticket-zentrale here in germany...which is what the love from above website has listed as selling tickets....and they don't have tickets....like its not even listed in their computers or something....damn it....well maybe tickets just aren't on sale yet

Smoking ..umm..something

Same here Pat Mcgroin.

I often find that when you've been awake about 24 hours, you start to feel knackered, but if you stay awake a few more hours, you feel fully awake again. It's weird. Then you get knackered again, then that wears off. it's just getting through that initial threshold is the hard part.

I'm interested in parties after Galaktika too, so that I know I have somewhere to go if I'm still feeling energetic half way through Sunday

I must say though, that Love Airport lineup still tempts me. In the UK we never get lineups like that. The trance scene is big in the UK, but the techno scene isn't

Posted by jp on May-30-2002 08:47:

tickets are not for sale yet, maybe only at record stores I believe for the moment. Patience!

BTW getting your tickets on thurdsay/friday wasnt any problem last year!

Posted by dj_mdma on May-30-2002 10:22:

jp, u better be right, I don't wanna end up doing nothing on the Sunday Morning!
