probably Caltrain (you can see it from the stop) but BART is closer to Ruby Skye so its the same distance i suppose. Check Google maps and the BART/Caltrain schedules as Caltrain stops pretty earlier on the weekends, not sure about BART.

Can anyone give me an idea of traffic? I'll be driving to the event from a hotel near SFO.

I remember being stuck for over 2 hours during Monster Massive... FTL

Posted by AmericnWldChild on May-21-2008 02:27:

Anybody driving from the Los Angeles/Pasadena/Orange area for BOTH the Friday event at Ruby Skye and the Saturday event at the Cow Palace? I have a friend driving up on Saturday but I'd like to catch the Friday event as well... I think I might even have an extra ticket for that one but I gotta check. It would be cool to split gas/hotel and party if any of you would be down! Flights are pretty steep at the moment... plus it would be alot easier to get around in a car! PM Me!

Posted by teslavoiders on May-21-2008 07:07:

traffic will be pretty bad if you go down bayshore
geneva should be OK

that neighborhood is really shady

for you drivers out there, i would advise parking in the lot even though its gonna cost like half your ticket

although there is plenty of parking outside if you take the cheap route, dont leave your gps/ipod in the car cuz it will probably get stolen

you can take the bus i think its the "9X", used to be called the "15" after you get off of BART or Caltrain but its walkable

cow palace is almost right across from KFC so u can grab a bite there too but its gonna be packed

4 days!

Ok.. How shady is Shady.. you know me... for events like these I do not go in "normal" attire. I am not going in Gogo boots this time but will have fuzzy boot covers on and a short short skirt. So I need the best way from The BART or MUNI to the event.

Also what is the best way to get back to Ruby Sky.

Does anyone have room for 2 more. I will pay for Gas

u should be fine as long as you dont wander off from the venue alone or anything like that at like 3AM

this should help you plan your public transportation in SF

I won't do that!! I just hope something is running when we leave edtp!

Thanks for this link

How is parking for Ruby Skye? Do they charge (they charge like $10 for public parking in downtown SD)? I just made car reservations that I'll pick up from the airport, and I reserved a hotel pretty much across the street from the CP (reserved it back in feb).

Does anyone know if there's anything going on for Sunday?

edit: the area isn't shady to the point where I'll get shot in my room, is it? lol

Posted by teslavoiders on May-21-2008 08:19:

dont know about parking there

nah its not THAT shady haha...dont mean to cause a scare
use your judgment and be responsible thats all =)

sunday i dont know of anything EDM related in the bay area, but theres a hip hop club event called summer reign. its a completely different crowd, like the tough cocky type but still fun nonetheless.

Hmmm anyone know what website could be used to book a last minute flight from LA to SF for the best price at the moment? I'm still lost as far as whats going to happen... I'm also unsure if the Public Transportation will stop working at a certain time in the night for Friday night and Saturday night so I don't know how safe it would be to go places if they indeed were not running...

Hey there,

I'm coming in from Vegas for the big show. Plus seeing Tiesto will be a whole lot better than seeing him in the tiny, packed clubs in Vegas that charge $150. I'm sure Ruby Skye will be packed but they handle big events better than the clubs in Vegas (surprisingly).

Anyhow, I'm staying near Union Square and just wondering how the heck I can get back to my hotel at 2-3 am from the Cow Palace? Can I get a cab? Is that even realistic?

I checked the transit511.com site and the 9x bus doesn't start back up till 4:30 am Sunday morning. Anyone have any other suggestions? I'm considering getting a limo but can't depend on getting picked up that late. If anyone's interested in sharing thelimo, let me know.

Any additional info would be helpful.

*sigh*
I hope there is a good way back. I am going to get the cab's number so I can call in head of time. I am also going to see if any one has room for 2 more people in a car. I am sure a limo will be $$$ but I would be interested

At that hour, in that area, there is no easy way. I expect to catch a cab downtown with some others, maybe even looking for fellow partiers going to after parties, but the cabs that evening may be few since the trips they'll be making back and forth to the city is a bit long.

I'll at this event!

couple options:

1) street parking, sunday meters are off, but make sure you watch street cleaning sign...
2) or... at o'farrell and mason st, there's a parking garage in the corner they charge $15... it's across the street from ruby skye!

hope this helps

I too would be interested. My hotel is round the block of Ruby Sky, too long a way to walk back for the AP.

Posted by 2tall on May-21-2008 17:12:

i'm thinking that since cow palace is technically in daly city, it might be only non-SF cabs doing pick-ups...
