Just saying tho, rangers refused to pay an extra 1/2 million for this guy 2 years ago when they had a �2.5 million bid rejected. What has he done in that period of time to more than triple his valuation.

You've misunderstood if you're referring to the Goal.com article. Zenit have said that they're willing to give up Arshavin and �20 million for Messi, not for Barcelona to pay �20 million on top of transferring Messi. Funny nonetheless.

I don't even understand why his stock has gone up so much. The service he was receiving last season was stellar, and barring a few, the amount of goals he scored had little to do with his skills as a finisher. In a team that boasts Javier Mascherano and Xabi Alonso in the central defensive midfield role, I'm curious to know why Liverpool would pay more than �15 million for Gareth Barry. The English market is inflated beyond belief.
