I'm glad you said it.

You stupid ignorant people with you're stupid ignorant sugar coated formulaic arguments how about using your own mind?

Look a THIS situation not one you read about or saw on TV. Look at it from HIS point of view. I do the same for the iraqis, to be honest if it was my country I might be an insurgent.

I'm not some war loving idiot. But to jump on someone for this is frankly shameful. And some of you might want to look at your own ethics, and consider how you developed your own rigid paradigms.

dear guy,

you make good arguments, but you're letting anger take control.

Sincerely,

You have got to be kidding me.........he tried to kill him.

As for the pious comments about stealing and mp3s being the same "let he who has not shamed cast the first stone!". What a total joke!

You people are living in la-la land. Enjoy it!

Does that mean you're going to stop talking now?

Well argue the points if you want. Or just don't up to you.

I get angry after awhile. Especially with confident, ill considered ignorance which lives in a realm of black and white. Which exactly the type of reasoning which allowed the invasion of Iraq to happen. In a word irony.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, laughers, screamers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get into locked a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge, and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon.

I still consider it analogous to downloading an mp3. But overarching that. It is not main point. That is everyone will do anything given the right situation.

Morals are much more flexible than the veneer of society we live in would dictate.

But our trip was different. It was to be a classic affirmation of everything right and true in the national character. A gross physical salute to the fantastic possibilities of life in this country. But only for those with true grit.

Ok, you're going to have to explain this one for me. How DOES the belief that one should retain one's ethics in shit situations lead us to the invasion of Iraq?

My parents paid for me to get a pilot's licence and training when I was 16 in the vain hope that I wouldn't end up a complete wastrel.
(that didn't quite work out...)

Too dumb for medical school (she really wanted me to be a dentist) and too short to be an airline hostie. The only things I terrorised in a plane where people stupid enough to get in it with me.

I didn't know they had a height requirement. I would think not bumping your head on the ceiling would be a pro.

Dark and flashing, as Fitzgerald would say.

I see. Well its not a very good job anyways. Stuck in a small area for an extended period of time with grumpy ppl having to pretend you like them. Like being next to Jennypie for an entire thread.
